I'm heading to LBL to camp. Wife going horseback riding and I am hitting the water. Never fished Barkley before.
Looks like the closest ramps and areas on the lake are Ford Bay and Donaldson Creek. I want to target crappie but
I hear they are post spawning. Can anyone help me with information or ideas on where to fish. Thanks in advance. Chub.

I don't think Barkley is post spawn yet, I have caught females with a lot of eggs the last 2 days. I would try a pattern you normally fish during the spawn first, usually post spawn I catch several males still with dark colors which I haven't done yet.

Those are some nice looking fish, good job. Looks like it was a lot of fun. Did you fish much in Donaldson Creek or Fords Bay like originally planned? How was Donaldson I am thinking of going there myself?

Between Fords and Donaldson Creek is where I got these. I started out looking for Shellcrackers but did not catch a one. Lost a lot of time experimenting
before finding the crappie. They were in 2 foot of water near rocks. I was using shiners I got at Hilltop. They really liked the larger shiners in the 3 inch range.
Those are some nice crappie. congrats
