Fish or no fish it will be alot more fun than being at work. This hitch has been rough just need to get though one more day
I hope they turn on for you guys. I needs some exciting posts out of Henderson.
Henderson is tough right now. Is that the PHI tournament?
I assume the PHI tournament you and your dad were talking about while at the little gathering we had at Henderson. It was a pleasure to meet you there, a fine fella you are. Gene and Linda did good. We want pictures regardless of the outcome.
You hear me Gene? :)
Fig tree growing every day BTW - thanks.
Come of Matt, don't be so negative. Those fish will be hungry for sure. Well we'll give it a good try. I have my strategy all planned, now if the fish will follow the plan. Hopefully there will be something to take pictures of.

It was a pleasure too finally meet you to randy and as for me being a fine fella you can blame PPG for that
That is a really fun tournament, I fished it a few times- Good people, plenty food and drink, nice door prizes and a lot of fish stories. Even though the fishing is a little slow someone is going to find some and a good time will be had.
Where is the weigh-in going to be?
Bruce, were launching at the free launch but the way in is at Crawfish Town USA.

I know nothing about fishing the Butte Larose canal.

watch out for the idle zone as you enter from the lake......there is a sign there and one about 3 football fields south at the end of the zone.......with the high water I would assume idle past any residential or camps.....I am sure the W & F will be out patrolling.....
Well, time for the good, the bad, and the ugly.
In reverse order,
The ugly was the weather. Got started a little before eight o'clock scanning for fish and couldn't spot any. We tried drifting minnows anyway to no avail. When we finally found some fish the weather hit and it hit hard and fast. We ran for the I-10 bridge which we weren't far from. When we got there it looked like a Wal-mart parking lot. We hunkered down for a while letting the lightning pass us by Then we fished our way back to the launch waiting for the rain to let up. It never did but got light enough for us to pick up, not that it made any difference as we were already soaked.
The bad was no fish, period. Not one bite. I did get one good tug on my line but that was because I got too close to the troll motor. It gave a good fight then broke off.
The good was by the time we drove to Crawfish Town in Henderson for the weigh-in the rain was gone and the skies were clearing. Also good was the food at the weight-in and the great door prizes we received. We had a good time except for ducking the lightening which didn't last too long. We got home safely and happy.

as a footnote, some fish were caught and a few anglers went home a lot richer than when they arrived
I was wondering about ya'll yesterday when that bad storm came in. It rained hard here. Least you guys got home happy.
Thanks for the report......I was following the weather and thinking of you guys all day.....glad it was a safe day for you.....those trolling motors can sure put up a good fight.....be sure to pull your prop off and remove any line.....
You should try catching the big motor.
Glad yall got through it with no more than a broke line on the trolling motor! I don't mind fishing in the rain but lighting.......nonono
Fishing was tough we ended up with 2 sac a lait 13 bluegill a bass and a goo, shoulda came out in bream but i didn't read the rules and weighed 5 instaed of 7, next year I'll recoup! Mr. Gene again it was nice chatting and see you guys in 2 years!
Good seeing you again Matt. Maybe one day you'll have to take me to Fausse Point so that if we have another tourney there I won't be lost.
