Nice Skip. The swivel setup looks different like it has been split to add the blade. Would you share a pic of your light and camera setup? You always have great shots of your jigs. The light balance is right on!!

Okay ifish here you go...I use a Sony Cyber Shot DSC H7 and I always use the MACRO setting and take pics using both the Auto Setting and then the portrait. I take one with flash and one without. I always have my tying light on as it's close enough to add to the over head light. I make sure to position my self so the shadow doesn't get in the way of where I will Crop it. I do use my editing software that came on my iMac. I use to use the Picture Manager on my PC before I went Mac. I always adjust the light or darkness if needed and also use the contrast too. I get as close as I can taking the picture so farther away on if taking a picture of a lot of jigs. Once I am happy with it I pick the best of the 4 or more pictures and use that. Sometimes I don't feel the need to take 4 or more of every one and then just maybe one or two shots.
It's just something you have to do kind of playing with adjustments on camera and software. If you want to take pictures of Florescent colors under a black light it's all different and even the camera setting all are different. The camera is the most important part. Full HD and Macro is big!

Thank you! Fishing has not been all that good, the cold weather first and then the weather with it rain that had the lake full well over full! That made them open the flood gates and these fish are not use to all that water moving like that. Heck the bass are up I'm where trees are and really no way to get to many of them, LOL!
oh I left out my little table next to my vise holds my feathers when tying and when it's picture time I just pull out a white plastic cutting board I use for background, LOL! I also have the Black light next to that table just sitting on top of a plastic chest. Mainly though I think a decent camera with Macro setting will give good pictures, then a decent editing software to adjust lighting for the most part.

Here is a picture if I scoot back in my chair and look at my tying area and also showing the little table next to me that I use for everyting from feathers like now to taking pictures on top of it after I put that cutting board on it. You can also see my tying light and how it helps some.

Hey Skip, Now I see how you do it. When I was a kid when we went to Grandma's house I would open all the drawers to see what she had. Kind of like visiting someone's private place looking at that pic. Thanks for sharing all the great jigs that have come from there. Ain't nobody going to take a jig from there with that sidearm!!

Light balance has been the key for me. Getting shots without shadows has also been an issue. I made a light table to shine light up through to get rid of the shadows and worked on some software to help get the pics just right and then when I post them they get screwed up. Frustrating sometimes but fun figuring it all out. Ordering a light ring soon and will see how it does. Suppose to be what the pros have gone to. Your pics are some of the best on here. Very well done Sir!

I also have one of the little cheap light boxes that did help making a Purple jig come out really Purple, but also took manual mode and settings I forget. Anyway soon I quit using that and just said the heck with it I will just do what I have been sice that which is as I described. Don't know about that light, never used one.Good luck,Skip
