Was out charting a lake today, uploaded the data and found this on the lake. This is an old strip mine. Looks like shovel scopes, what do you think?

Well now ... That's about the coolest contour lines I've ever seen ...
Good job Hanr ...

Cool stuff. There should be some fish around that ditch.
Could be strip pits, that is cool!
That's where the Crane was stuck and had to be winched out!!! LOL!!!
I do plan on fishing it next weekend and see what's down there. Wonder if I can find it on the side scan?
Might be where the old dredge was....I've flown over that place a time or two, always wanted to fish it
I am leaning towards Maxwells idea. Cant tell the terrain depth differences but these marks are parallel like tracks. If they were shovel or drag line marks they would intersect at an angle.
I believe our strip mines were dug by dragline machines.

Video will give you an idea on how it works.
Showed it to a couple of in-laws over the weekend. There thinking its the trail to the bottom of the pit to get equipment in and out of the pit. I thinking it's more vertical, like the side has been notched out. It doesn't appear like the depth changes. Thoughts?
go over it with DI and you should be able to tell what it is
You used the Di yet on that cool looking image
No, not yet. I wanted to Saturday, however I was too busy unhooking Bluegill and Bass. I couldn't catch a Crappie to save my life. I'll have to scroll through my side imaging to see if it shows up.
Cool keep them coming
