Improved Clinch is what I use ... mono or braid. Simple & quick to tie is the reason.

Whatever knot you can tie quickly and easily will work just fine.

Loop knot for me as well. Your jig is made to have a certain action. To me, anything that cinches on the eye of your hook, would hinder that action.
If I were to tie direct, I would use the Trilene knot. Been using it for so many years now, it's second nature to me. However - with jigs I would prefer a loop of some sort, in order to give the jig maximum freedom in the water, which makes, I believe, an very attractive presentation. The currents, depth of the water and type of retrieve can have a dramatic affect on jig action. And this free action that a loop allows works just fine with most presentations.
Now that being said, I do not use a loop knot with my jigs! The desirable action you get from securing your jig with a loop is defeated - in my opinion - by the abrasion of the line loop by the sliding back & forth movement in the eye of the jig. I've lost some fish this way when all I retrieved was the two ends of a broken loop! Instead, I tie direct to a "Snap Hook", then snap the jig onto it. Best of both worlds. Here's a link to what I am talking about:
Mustad Snap Hooks. Easily change flies without tying
After many years of trial & error, I find the size #2 (medium) to work very effectively with 1/32 - 1/8 oz. jig heads. An added bonus is that this small device (which is small enough to float a dry fly) allows for quick and easy changing of jig heads without retying. JMO! :)
surgeon's loop for me. I've tried a number of devices and I like tie the loop
I use a "Huckabee knot for the top jig to get a nice loop for the jig to run true and a Palomer knot on the jig at the tag end. Both are perfect and keep the jigs attached and running true.

Improved clinch knot for me.
loop .
I use mediium fas-snaps (sp) on all my rods. Lets the jig move freely and makes jig swap outs... well... a snap.
Loop because i like my jig to hang as horizontal as possible and it's a good solid and very strong knot.
i favor a loop knot or a hook snap tied on your line with a Palomar knot. They both will allow your jig to hand level in the water.

Whatever knot you choose practice it while watching TV ...with a bigger hook with point removed( safety first ) (easier to thread line on big hook) practice tell you can do it without looking (glance now and then)..Some Knots are impossible for me to do without looking (for me)...Choose one thats simple and good...Palomar is easy for me..Threading the Crappie hook just takes EYES and good steady aim..and I aint got either any more
I prefer a loop knot for jigs.
I think the Palomar knot is the strongest and have used it for years. I recently started tying the loop knot for jigs and now prefer it for that.
I use a snap that ties to your line on one end and snaps into the jig eyelet on the other. They are very small and come from the fly shop at BassProShops. I'm sorry but I could not find them on-line (the exact name). Go to one of their fly shops and look for them. They work great & secure the jig and allow for complete freedom of movement. Also when you want to change jigs you just pull the old jig off the snap and put on the new jig with a pair of pliers. No knot tying involved on the jig end.
loop knot for me. I cant tie it faster than any of the other knot while on the water
