Now that's a good question!
I'm ready when the fish are....
Fish have been very scattered. Lots of fish roaming in open water. Some are doing alright. waters 59-63 but the fish are not even close to spawning with the exception to some black crappies.
Here's a updated report for south end..

This will show you the lake level every day!!
RIVER AND RESERVOIR REPORT
I was on there Saturday and today...a few small bass by accident...crappie bite is poor in my opinion. A few dinks here and there. I'm sure some of the wise guys are doing ok. Water level is extremely low. It can only get better.
Got 8 keepers in about 2 hours sunday evening. All I can say is you're gonna have to work for them, catch one or two and they shut down on a spot.
Water level is not extremely low, it is right where it should be for this time of year. It is the same every year (with exceptions due to flooding). The corps takes it down to 594 every year during the winter. Winter pool, summer pool, etc. Only reason they left it high this winter was due to waterfowl season and they chose to leave it "high" for longer than normal.
Bass bite ok, no crappie yet for me.
Thanks for the info, gonna head to Rend and find the bushes that everyone talks about.
I don't know about anybody else but on sville the last couple of days, midlake, five foot under a cork in 15 to 20 fow was good for me. "jig only"
Damn. Just when I thought I could start fishing again and I come back here ( been gone TOOOOO long due to hunting season (s)) and I read this. Maybe someone could adopt me at Rend on Saturday instead...
Sorry about being away but this hunting season (s) works me over pretty good! I hadn't even had time to check here since October.....
Hope all is well with everyone.

Slow for us yesterday spider rigging , talk to Birdman he was done early with 3 limits , gave us a few pointers. We gave him a hard time just for fun . Got my camper lot at coon creek moving the camper down next weekend woo hoo look out y'all
8-11 ft. minnows and slip float over brush. south end. had some dandies, including several 11's 12's and a 14in.
It wasn't too bad, he drinks good beer, doesn't eat as much as Jeff, it may work out
Why you gotta be that way? BTW, I will send that secret rub of mine before I head south. I have it on the list to make a big batch to take with me to tide me over until Pam gets down there permanently. I'll make your batch as well.
Gobob, make sure you have a good pair of 'Nocs. I'm sure Steve will be dragging you along on his sight-seeing walks... Also, if you are real nice to Mike, he might give you a key to the hydrant!!
I caught 28 Thursday mid lake on minnows 4' to 12' deep. A few fisherman around me were fishing double jig rigs and doing good.
I think it's kind of hit and miss at this time and with the weather change coming it will be tough fishing for the next few weeks
oh that was just 6 keepers over 10"
I will be looking for a new Key Man , Jeff !
Jeff you going to make camp?
No I'm not Wibur. That is my first week on the new job in Arkansas. You guys have fun and send me pictures of that incredible Italian sausage I'm sure you'll be taking down. Best Italian sausage I've ever eaten!
