not many but a good time
Didnt catch many but lil guy had fun. This one was a hair under 14" and the other one was 12".
Just casted to the banks and slow retreive. Black and chart is my go to color. The bigger one was still digesting 2 decent sized shad in the belly and was full of eggs.
Pic might be sideways

Nice fish! sounds like the weather slowed down the bite a little.
-
Congrats on the fish and getting the young man out too. Nice picture.
-
Looks like a great time to me congrats.
-
That's a beauty, Congrats.
-
A 14 will always make the day better plus a good fishing partner!

Thanks guys. He's still not too coordinated but he likes to reel in fish. I just pitch a jig out and hand him his pole. Others have suggested a minnow and bobber.... we'll see how that goes.
-
Congrats. What lake were you on?

sounds like a fun day with the youngster! a jig or minnow with a float is a good way to let kids easily catch fish, just be sure to use a slip float, they tangle much less and cast much easier.

I was at prairie lee. I probably spelled that wrong. I'll look into a slip bobber setup. Never used one

nice picture, I use the bobber for the grand kids, they still reel it in every 5 seconds, but that cool, congrats on the great day with the wee one
