What a difference a day makes!
I decided to to go to the big D yesterday after the rain moved through I had been hearing reports that they were catching some up by the banks. As I was getting my boat ready to launch a man pull up and said are you coming are going I told him going. He asked if had been doing any good I told him I was catching a few in the pits 35 to 40´ deep a couple of weeks ago he nodded his head and said yep! I told him I've heard that they were catching some up by the banks so that's where I'm going to look first I could tell he was an old-school crappie fishermen as he looked my rig over I asked how about yourself he said been catching some up on the banks until mother nature flip the switch a couple of days ago hope you got a plan B. He told me best of luck and headed on his way. I thought to myself maybe they moved back to the first drop offs so I drove around not finding anything promising looking I searched a little deeper and found some tops with what looked to be fish in them. I baited up and battled the wind and I mean it was a battle my first time spider rigging in 15 to 20 mph winds to say the least it was a learning experience wind 1 fosh 0. Managed to catch one keeper and a couple of dinks and cat! Knowing the fish were there I went back this afternoon and it was much easier sailing ended up with 15 keepers and a bunch of through backs.
