I got my spider rig setup this morning from Jared at Everharts. Put in at bucksaw. Ran down to Jackson again. Fished really close to the wood all around. Mainly stayed in 18 FOW or so and about 8-12 deep. Ended up keeping 14 of them. Biggest was 13, had a couple 12's, but had 3 or 4 9-10's mixed in as well.
Jigs tipped with minnows again. Silver and Chart seemed the best color if any mattered. It was a pretty slow bite, here and there. It was pretty cold this morning but still had a blast.

The wind was pretty heavy this morning, I was just trying to go as slow as I could really. My Graph was reading 0.2 MPH most of the time. I've only rigged twice, not an expert by any means lol. But that seemed best for me today

Jeff I got pretty deep in his pocket today but he will be set up for a while with what he got. I kept dhkdl1's power supply and bait tray this morning out of his Engel. Which made him stop back in the store. Which let me get into his pocket for a couple rods to. Sorry about that David. Was good seeing all the cdc guys this morning.
The drawings represent Leaders. Jared told me about this today as a suggestion, which I will probably try out after getting hung up and retying my line so much today fishing in the wood. Basically he said; Main line 8# mono, 15# braid, whatever you want to run. 8# mono = much cheaper route. Then your leader will be made up of 6# mono. On your main line, you will have a swivel clip. On your leaders, the top will have just a plain swivel to attach to the clip for replacing leaders as needed. Much faster than retying everything.Quote:

This is a mini version of how I was taught to tie multiple jigs on a line. Just for a reference. Gives the top jig a little distance away from the main line this way.

I thought I would add this as well. This is a good and cheap way to keep your leaders stored and so that they wont get into a tangled mess. This is just made out of a noodle, the kids floatation device for pools and stuff. I had some extra laying around from my catfish noodles I've been working on. I wrap mine on Left to right. So I would take them off Right to left to avoid any problems.Attachment 196692

Do not forget to label your rods just in case. Good looking setup ought to keep you busy.
