Hi Guys and greetings from Cape Cod. Here's a nice bluegill I took on a deer hair bug of all things. It weighed 1 lb. 1 oz. and I was able to get a MA. Sportfish Award pin for it. I have been trying to break the 1 lb. mark for a while - not real easy around here. I get lots of 3/4 lb. fish, but the pounders are tough. Anyhow, I was really thrilled to catch it and thought you might like to see the pic. God bless and tight lines to all, Alec

Beautiful fish. Congrats on reaching your goal. I'm still chasing that 3 pound crappie. Missed it by one ounce a few years ago.

Great job, Alec!:) I rarely get one pounders either. I do get the 3/4 pounders and 1/2 pounders more than the one pounders though. The vast majority I catch are the 1/4lb. variety.

I agree...nice fish. And how awesome of a fight was it on that flyrod! I love fishing gills on a flyrod, and that one would be one I would remember for a long time.
Great fish! Beats any bluegills that I've caught. I'll bet it was fun to catch on the fly rod too. Ounce for ounce, bluegills are one of the toughest fighting fishes I know of.
Here's one that my wife caught: 14-15 oz.
