Does anyone know where Fawn Creek is on Lake Conway? I have heard of it, but haven't a clue.
me too. I saw it on the report this week. Don't have a clue. DP
That's where I saw it. On Bates' report from the weekly AGFC report.
I looked online and did not see that creek named ? Maybe one of the local Conway guys knows where it is ?
I had looked on line myself. I also checked the great info from the "Fishing Lake Conway" info provided on the AGFC website - but none of the maps included had any insight on Fawn Creek.
Perhaps Bates needs to tell us all where it is since their fishing report is where it was mentioned
I never heard of it.
Never heard of it either. It is not one of the tributaries that I know of. It may be a smaller creek/ditch entering the lake or a local name. Or it could have been a mistake.
Dude at Bates is laughing his tail off right now. I heard that before he sent the report out, he turned around and said to his buddy "wanna see how to drive some fishermen crazy? Watch this."
Sorta like I kept telling folks I was catching fish on a ''Buckwheat'' jig . :Rofl I named your homemade jig that to razz MEATGETTER 's Spanky. But I really was catching fish on them but guess you won't sell any ?nonono Funny thing was folks were hitting local baitshops asking for ''Buckwheats '' !:Rofl
You gotta admit that it would be pure genius marketing. Everyone trying to figure it out and then calling Bates. All they gotta say is "not FAWN creek, it was supposed to be spawn in the creek, do you wanna by some fishing gear?"
No Fawn Creek on Conway. It was probably supposed to say "Palarm Creek," which sounds similar if you are giving a report over the phone.
Bates is really promoting the Cypress bite this year. More boats on the lake than I have ever seen, BY FAR. Last Friday, I pulled up to an area that is normally isolated, and there was three boats in there. So I moved on to my next spot, and guess what? Three more boats! Of course, nobody was catching fish, just kind of cluttering up the lake. Probably had something to do with the 1/64 oz jig heads they were selling everybody. I can fish fifteen trees by the time that tiny jig hits the bottom! So, after I left I stopped at Bates to weigh a couple of my bigger fish to check the accuracy of my scales. They were directing everybody that walked through the door to a different group of trees.
Just a little tip for those of you that want to learn how to fish Conway right now: pick a tree and fish it. Doesnt matter where it is. If you aint getting bit there, find another area. If there are seven hundred thousand yo-yos hanging from a particular group of trees, dont waste your time. If there are three boats on your spot, fish it anyway cuz there will be three more on the next one, and they aint catching nothing anyway!!
End of rant
Spect a lot of that was due to Spring break. Not sure.
