They are all still crappie fisherman
I'm both. :highfive
I fish all over the country and I fish all different ways/styles/techniques as well. I love this sport for that exact reason. There are so many different ways to fish for crappie and so much to learn.
Not really worth a thought out comment
What about dynamite? :Rofl
agree with the above, learn from the riggers, even though I don't do it,,, AS for the boom sticks,,, done it loved it,,, pond is still dry,
If you split it to two forums it would be awful boring for 4-5 months out of the year if you had to rely on "one pole" fishing reports. I've seen many many guys converted to rigging after struggling to catch fish with one pole in there hand. All it takes is a couple bad days and then take them rigging and catch 40-50 fish in a half day trip. I guess I don't see where the hard feelings come from against the "riggers". It's just one of many many ways to catch the fish we love. I always hear the "they are going to clean the lake out" statement. My feelings are that a limit is a limit. So if Mr. Greenjeans is doing his job there should not be an issue of it happening. I catch probably close to a 1000 fish a year doing it and never eat a single one. I have kept two doing it last year for the taxidermist. So that should not hurt the population to much.
The seasons naturally split the styles. The first part of the year the riggers dominate the fishing and the forum. After the spawn and the fish move to the wood on the flats, the single polers take over. I think most all of us would much rather feel the thump (I live for the thump) but if you can't beat the riggers and sometimes you just can't, you had better join them. Or stay at home until summer.
I too go both ways................................ when fishing. Rig in the pre spawn and dip in the post spawn.
