Saw it on the news last night but do not know if it was finalized yet.
Back when they first started the inspections on cars the shops would check everything on your car and if it was not right they would not stick a new on it until everything was fixed. You even had the horn and headlights inspected to make sure they were set right and tires had to have the right depth thread or you had to replace them. But over the years all I had to do was say I need a sticker and they just put one on. Really you could not blame the service centers they really was not making enough money for doing this and keeping up with records and money anyway.:twocents

been down here 10 years now and have taken my two vehicles to the same place year after year and they have yet to check one stinkin thing. give em 5 bucks and here they come with a scrapper and new sticker. what a scam...

Been here 16 years and only gotten 2 or 3 inspections and that was when I got a ticket. Got the inspection, receipt, then got the ticket thrown out--no big deal :)Quote:

Read the story on this last year. Reason they were talking about doing away with them was due to the cost to the state was more then they were getting back.

Glad it's gone. Waste of time and money. I see one group that would not like it and that's the windshield man. Mississippi has no shoulders on its roads for the most part. Rock chips equals cracks equals no inspection without new windshield. Unless your in a big truck going threw a dot inspection they ain't worried about nothing but drivers license insurance and registration and have you been drinking.
I got a sticker every year for seven years with cracks in my windshield....the state was l oseing money on it anyway so I am glad its gone.
Dee, I have no problem finding bullets, it's powder and ammo I can't find.
That will save me a bunch of work. Every year I remove the airbag from the steering wheel and sand the points for my horn. I honk it once at the inspection and it doesn't work for a year.
Nobody ever checked my horn or anything else...just scrape of old sticker and put on new one ....the inspections were worthless.
I needed to go to you guys gas stations. The ones around oxford check windshield lights wipers horns and tint darkness for an extra 5 bucks. Glad it's gone.
