If it's above zero, and I can go, I go.
I admit, I never look at it.
I ALWAYS SAY WORST DAY IS AFTER A FRONT , BLUE BIRD SKIES AND HIGH BAROMETRIC PRESSURE.
:twocents
Barometric pressure has a lot to do with fishing, like nimrod the worst day is after a front.I have a cheap wall mount temp gauge, baro. graph and fish graph from wal-mart that is interesting to watch and you can see how the good days relate to the pressure.
in my opinion , barometric pressure is the most critical factor in a good bite and a slow or non existent bite, all other factors do play a part but pressure is the key ingredient!!!!
Rising, falling high or low..which is good and which is bad?
high pressure or rising pressure is usually the worst time to fish, a steady or rapid drop in pressure is when you will see fish most active or turned on, i dont pay much attention to it because i just fish when i have the opportunity, but you can bet on high pressure or a rising barometer the bite will not be as good
I've had some of my best fishing trips on overcast days with a light rain I've always heard it's because of a front moving through and the pressure dropping. But like Crappie Greg said when I get the opportunity I'm going regardless of the wether.
I've been on the water with a storm front moving in with fish biting so good it was tough to quit. I have been soaked but kept right on fishing as long as lighting was not too close .:biggrin
Xris, aka CMJ, your phone is ringing.:biggrin
Thank you CrappieGreg. I like you go when I can though but good to know which is best.
Trying to get CMJ to post this. I think he has another post that he put into English.

Where's the other one Chris, or is this it?
Some of my best days were overcast especially when fishing clear water and then I've done well on sunny days right before a front arrived.
If the cows are laying down, I normally don't fish..
Old saying for hunting and fishing...."Back side of the high, front side of the low" Is best times. Now we didn't throw in the moon phase to all this. lol
If CMJ is fishin I'll go. Cloudy and windy I like. JMO.
I found a great app called "Scoutlook". It has barometric forecasts, lunar phase, weather radar, drift points, winds, etc...all in one app. I think it's only out on android but its a great all around fishing app.
30 years ago I was a hard core commercial fisherman down here on mobile bay. I had a little pocket barometer I wore on a chain around my neck. Falling preasure days were money days, the worst the weather the better the fishing. This was salt and brackish water and just the fish moving and being active. But low or falling preasure are the best days I believe to load the boat.
Sorry, bad joke but I couldnt resist.
I agree with Greg. I never let the conditions stop me from going, but knowing what may be causing a bad bite, and knowing how to adjust accordingly, can make a big difference. BP is one of the most important factors, but I think moon phase is just as important, especially this time of year.
Doesnt really matter either way. If you want to fish bad enough, then you will, regardless of the conditions. Aint no shame in gettin skunked, it happens to us all, whether we admit it or not!!
I just go fishin. I don't like post front conditions when the pressure gets high, but it beats the heck outta workin.
One thing I've noticed is it seems to effect shallow bite the most. When pressure is high I fish deeper close to the bottom and tight to structure (tops , palletbeds , ect ). I have seen times in 6 to 9' of water where I had to drop jig to the bottom and pick up only inches to get a bite under high pressure. Deep is relative to the body of water you fish .:twocents
Thanks for all the replys.
I don't pay any attention to it. I only get to fish so many days a year and I'm gonna go no matter what. With that said I think it plays a part in how active the bite is but the fish will bite everyday no matter the conditions u just have to adjust to put the bait in front of them. Like nimrod said higher pressure days look close to bottom.
