They would not touch plastic only minnows.

That's a good looking fish. Glad you had a great day on the water.
Great time with pops. My Dad turned 79 last week and I took him to Weiss and we had our best trip ever. Caught our limit Friday and Saturday. We caught ours on minnows also around 20 feet deep, but there were plenty of others pulling jigs and doing well also. Anytime you get to spend with your Dad is a good time.
Congratulations. Love fishing with my dad or my little girl.
Those are special trips that you get to share your passion with dad. Congrats on a great trip Lee.
what do you use to get minnows that deep?
We were using 1/16 jighead with minnows casting and counting fifteen to twenty five before retrieving .
caps colman rig will allow you to get your bait to the depth you want. .
Stripe fished parker creek Monday am,,,Zip,,,no birds,no bites,,however we got 5 sunday,,,one 10--12lbs,,,bucktails and jigging spoons,,,Monday seemed the few birds were looking for the fish too,,,I looked and chunked 2 hrs. and gave up...plan to let this rain get outa here and try spider rig at Mitchell,,,,
I use 3/4 to 1oz. bank sinker on the bottom with a hook or two about 18" above.
Attachment 194377i'll take my dad or this little booger any day of the week. both of them are hularious.
That pic is hilarious!! Looks like she has you figured out. No wonder you take that one out.
We were using the Capps and Coleman rig with a half ounce sinker moving really slow. They were eating it pretty good all weekend.
