C S Lee Ramp at Lake Harney Closed

Had to get out for a few hours because today was so nice, happened to drive by C S Lee park to see the pics below. Went to the Seminole Park site & they posted the ramp will be under construction til' MARCH 20TH. You can launch at Mullet Lake Park & travel upstream St. John's to Lake Harney. The ramps were redone a couple years ago & they didn't pull up the decent concrete driveways, so other then replacing the wooden pier with a concrete one don't really know what they're doing. Also never seen anybody have any issues with driveways not long enough & trailer wheels going over etc....Oh well, just wanted to give a heads up......at least county tax $$$ are going toward something.

Thanks for the heads up......would have been bad to make the trip and find out......spoil my day for sure.....

Talked to one of the construction hands today. They are extending the length of the pier from 35 to 50 feet. Also adding an “L” shaped dock on the side facing away from the bridge, plus some sort of launch for the kayakers. Should be done the first week of April.

Bad timing for the bait lady. Busiest time of the year for selling minnows and they close the ramp.

They should compensate her for loss of business......couldn't have done one side at at time

Still closed today....saw it on my way back from the coast. Looks like it's gonna be a nice one if they ever finish it.

It was used when they retrieved the injured from the air-boat accident last week.

Don't take this the wrong way, I have nothing against small boats or kayakers - I have a canoe myself & think a small boat launch outta the way would be nice at most ramps.

BUT... how the heck can they close a ramp for paid, registered boats to make a launch for boats that don't pay for registration.:dono
It's kinda like all the bike trails that are being built all over the county for a vehicle or persons to use with no fee or registration required.http://www.crappie.com/crappie/image...atchhed%20.gif

Now Lemon Bluff ramp needs some love bad!!!

Yes, and from the looks of it Saturday it will be several more days. Looks like the parking lot is done but the dock and hardware (rails, cleats, etc.) have a long way to go. Four-wheel drives can still put in at the airboat ramp. I've been putting in at Mullet Lake. Takes about 25 minutes @ 35 MPH to get to Harney, but it's a very nice ride.

Yeah, the ole boat tote'n fisherman gets taxed on boat and trailer on a yearly bases.??
