Check these out
Here's that Thumper Fry again only this time I've used two colors for the lines instead of one. The plastic used is the same as what was used in the gin clear shot from a couple days ago....the same plastic in fact...a re-melt for this.

I did the usual hand pour of the belly side of the mold, trying to keep that cavity about 2/3 full of plastic. I allowed the bellies to cool for 5 minutes so the color would not gel up from heat when I dotted it on the bellies. The baits on one side of the runner got orange applied at the head end of the belly and chartreuse to the tail area of the belly. On the other side I reversed the colors. They both have character, but the orange is a bit more fluid and helped to create the marbling effect seen in those three on the lower right. Five of the 10 baits shown have tail stems that have orange very apparent on one side and chartreuse distinctly on the other. I call this shot a super success. Very, very happy with it.

You have skills my friend. Awesome baits.

You never fail to amaze me with what you make Ship. The fish are gonna love those.

Great colors and great job.

All of the tail stems in this batch have color. Its amazing how from one angle the color is very apparent but turn the bait just a bit and the tail is as clear as glass.

"Those Clear Bait turn out Really Sweet."
I've made a few attempts, that just displeased me as to their outcome. :dono
hand poured the belly, put some color on a tooth pick to draw a line and shot the rest,
only to have the whole thing separate with no bleed and the color line still being wet at the separation.
(Go Figure) ?:banghead
billygee

Those look awesome,great job!!

Billygee....
I don't use enough colorant to draw a line. I just put a very small spot of it at the front of the belly pour and at the rear of the belly pour. The spot of cor is only about as big s a head n a common pin....smaller even. I also let those belly pours get cold before I add the color otherwise the colorant will cook hard enough to prevent the color-drag you want when you inject the top color.

Thanks CTom
Seeing if I can shot at least Half as Good as you,
Would Make My Day :pray

Doing these takes some time to figure out the right amount of colorant to use....too much and you have a mess. Too little and interesting things don't unfold. If the belles are still too hot, they colorant sets and won't flow. If the colorant is too thin, its hard to handle. All of this comes with doing the process and paying attention to details that affect the outcome. I did a ton of practice shot using discolored clear plastic to learn. If you singe a cup of clear r have some transparent colors that are starting to turn on you, set them aside and use those to practice this and get a feel for all of the different steps.

doing those plastic baits up was a lot of fun I haven't done that in a while I had a gentleman asked about doing that on 1 inch which was too small for my taste but who knows I might give that a shot.
tom I would like to see a belly done with the core shot in the back the same way in two different colors which would make it marble looking?

Wow! I'd bite that. Those are high- level.

Really smooth Tom, excellent work. If you did pink and chartreuse it could be called "Clear Chicken". Great work.
