Thanks for the heads up. I need to back up mine anyway.
A good reminder for everyone to export their waypoints to a memory card and store it somewhere safe.
You may be able to retrieve them, I upgraded on HBPC and they weren't loaded in after the upgrade. I did find them in my documents. I had saved copies of my files to my documents as a backup.
I always keep mine backed up about 3 different ways ......But you shouldn't have lost them upgrading the software.
lol all is lost I have 300 snapshots that's it ................. woe is me
short grub,
Sorry to hear that you lost all of your waypoints but the guys here are right: you should not have lost them updating the software on your Humminbird unit. They are also right in that you should always back them up (and multiple copies is a good idea).
I am perplexed though in how you have screen snapshots though. Did you have a second memory card in your unit when you loaded the software update or did you use the same memory card that the screen snapshots are on?
Greg, think he is talking about his PC not his unit.
Good catch Greg.....I didn't notice he said snapshots....I was thinking waypoints......Snapshots are saved on an SD card as they are taken, and are not stored in the unit.......The associated waypoint would be in the unit, however.
Exactly BobB. I’m trying to piece together what happened…
Guys I'm talking about HBPC software on my computer not on my locator
this only means a lot more fishing to get them all back lol
thanks guys for the words of wisdom, I shall in the future back them up on multiple cards
Do a search of your PC’s hard drive for *.GPX and it should show you where the older version of HumminbirdPC was putting all of the Nav Data files. Unless you manually renamed them, they are date coded, so you should be able to use the newer version of HumminbirdPC and open that last file with it.
Have you tried back dating your computer to a previous date and retrieve them in this manner. Do a google search for back dating your computer(Apple or microsoft system) and then give it a try. Good luck.
thanks guys I'll look into those things
tried all those things guys I'm sol
oh well back to the water
again thanks guys
