Guntersville Guides
Can anyone recommend a good guide on lake Guntersville. Planning to spend a week there in a couple weeks and have been considering getting a guide one of the first few days I am up there. Also, will likely be fishing alone on this trip as my fishing partner has been having some health issues lately so if anyone would be interested in splitting the cost of a good guide service feel free to message me. Planning to drive up on the 12th and likely will be staying at the state park campground. Thanks for any help/advise given.

There used to be a guy last name was Stancil I think. I think he'll go to any lake in Alabama. He used to work with a friend of mine before he went pro. I've never finished with him so I can't tell you a. Lot about him but he's got a good reputation. I don't think there are a lot of guides for Guntersville on this site.

Jason Tucker
Not sure if David Stancil is doing much on Gville, he does a lot on Logan Martin.

Thanks for the info guys. I checked David Stencil's website and he only offers trips on the Coosa lakes. Will have to find a number for Jason if I make the trip.
Actually I am starting to question the weather and water conditions, do not know if the water will warm up enough in two weeks especially with more freezing rain expected the week. Starting to seriously consider my backup plan of heading south to lake martin instead. Do not know if the fishing will be any better on martin but it should at least be a little warmer. I should really wait till next month to make the trip, unfortunately I cannot change my vacation week. Guess I should just be happy that I get a vacation week and make the best of it.

The Coosa system is 8 degrees warmer right not than G. Logan Martin would be a good call as well as Weiss. Lots of guides on Weiss as well as places to stay.

Jason was catching them last week on Gville.

Callshy, do you have any contact info for Jason? All I have found is link to a website that no longer exist.

Looks like Big Crappie got you fixed up.

Mike Carter, anglingadventures.com (423) 802-1362 is also a good one. He knows both Weiss & G'ville. I have used him several times & have always caught fish & had an enjoyable time.

Again thanks everybody. This gives me a couple options. Now just have to hope the weather cooperates.
