Camp Remodel Completed
Last spring we began to remodel our camp in Lake Arthur. It is an old camp and was in need of being brought up to date. It had that 1970's look about it. It had that musty smell and we found out it had mold under the tile floor and carpet. We were lucky it wasn't the bad mold. We replaced the floors with ceramic tile and counter tops with granite. Updated the appliances, put a large stainless sink and added more cabinet space in the kitchen. We updated the bathroom with lots of cabinet space, new toilet and shower. Last we put in new furniture, flat screen TV and had a rolling buffet/bar built for parties. The storage room has washer/dryer and deep freezer. We are going to have it available to rent except during the spring spawn and major holidays. We haven't nailed down the rates, cleaning fee and deposit yet. It has 2 queen beds, 2 pull out sleeper sofas, and we have roll away beds for extra if needed. The boat house has 3 stalls with lifts, a cleaning station, 3 halogen stadium lights, and 2 patio areas. I can't wait to put it to use in a few weeks. This will probably be where I go out to pasture in around 15 years or so. I need to come load that dock with some trees
-
How deep is it around the dock
-
That's a real nice place. Great times ahead!

That's a nice looking camp!

Its 4 to 6ft deep. There is a trap door in the floor of the wharf and we have a brush pile to fish. Never do good off wharf for sacs. We mainly catch catfish off the wharf. Have 2 slat traps, hoop net, and a bunch of stove pipes.

Looks like a great camp! Shouldn't have any trouble renting once you get the word out.

I would be Interested, but I would need a tour of the spots to fish
-
Fool I wouldn't mind showing you a few spots. The camp is 15 to 20 minutes from the Lacassine Bayou launch on HWY 14, 10 to 15 minutes from Gary's Landing, 30 minutes from Bell City Drainage Canal, and 15 to 20 minutes to the Mermentau River launch on HWY 14. All these rivers and bayous are also accessible by boat from the camp at twice the drive time. I prefer to trailer my boat to the launches to save gas. Fishingfool I have been fishing the area all my life and am still learning it. Last year I fish BCDD and Lacassine the most due to the remodel and this year I plan to fish the Mermentau most trips as soon as the weather get right.

Thanks for the comments. Every weekend I have planned to go the weather hasn't cooperated. Cold and rain this weekend and the same forecast the next. I am spending the week of Easter there regardless what the weather will be.
