Feel the obligation to do something fishing related and can't get down there for three more weeks. Gonna re-spool spider riggin gear, and a couple 10 footers for dabbin. What is the general opinion THIS year on everybody's fav. Does it matter if it's hi-vis or low-vis or green or yeller, or purple....

Eagle Claw 10lb clear mono! Ive used the Hi-Viz with success but I don't have any problem seeing clear mono anywhere while fishing. Im to busy watching the rod tips....
8 lb clear stren and 10 lb clear bonehead on the long poles, 8 lb red cajin on the dabbin rods
10 lb hi vis stren on the spider rigs. I like fluorocarbon on my jig poles.

Have been a stren original 6-8 lb. test user for years . Last year Joel(Biguns) turned me on to 4 lb. line at bay springs . Cheap as I am I was not going to not use it when I fished other places . I was amazed at how many more strikes single pole fishing I got (or it seems) . Thinking about 2 lb. test now ! may look at 4 lb. flora carbon .
Interesting...... Just worried bout the buckbrush and havin to get 'forceful' with them. With 6 ya might loose a good un.
Braid, Braid and more Braid. Red, Yellow and Green even some white Stren Fused line.

Use Offshore Angler from Bass Pro in Hi Vis Yellow on long lining and slo trolling poles, for the money its the best I have found in mono. Picked up 2 spools yesterday, 6 bucks a spool and it was 1500 yards on the 10 pound and 2000 on 6 pounds. Braid for a dipping rod and looks like plenty of water to dip in this spring, Nader is at 204, 3 more feet and we will be putting in at the house!!!!!!!!:biggrin
P-Line (doesn't fade) hi vis. 12lb main line with home tied rigs using 12lb Silver Thread Silver (clear) AN-40 co polymer. Diameter of 8lb.
Now THATS what I call opinion and help. Thanks guys.......except now I'm really confused!! lol Sleet and ice snow here this AM....it's official. I'm definitely over this winter crap.
You know me Jimmyd, Braid is ALL I use for everything. Mainly 15/4 hi vis yellow.

The fact of the matter is ALL of these variations will work. You've just got to play with it a bit and see what's best for you.
I tried braid once and it's just not for me. I like being able to break off and change rigs quick. I like being able to break off without pulling the whole brush pile up to the boat. Lol. That stuff is tuff!
20# high vis braid (spider wire) with a snap swivel on the end. Tie crappie Riggs with 10# floro. If I do manage to break this setup it will be the rigg. Just snap a new one on and I'm ready to go again. Also since braid is solid, not translucent I find it very easy to see in all conditions. And it lasts forever... When I write that all out I feel like I've spent too much time thinking about fishing...
