I like the one I have. It the Baby Shad Swim Bait from Jacobs. Baby Shad Swim Bait - 2" bait mold - 20 cavity - JACOBS MOLD & MACHINE I can shoot multiple colors and clear stuff good enough for the crappie to eat.

Jacobs has a two inch in a grub body. Not a bad bait, like all of the paddletail rubs they are laid out wrong for a top/bottom color shot without doing a lot of tedious cutting and even then you get only about a 30% successful fill rate. Tail colors are easy though and he does have a tail mold that fits a 3" paddletail worm and I think will fit the 2" grub. You'd have to ask him. I have the worm, the paddletail that I think is 1.75" and the tail-only molds and even the tail-only makes a unique bait very similar to the Slider 1" grubs....fun in a tail color.
Mike you could use a dual injector with that mold to get your two colors.Quote:

If a tail mold isn't a mold he makes "yet", ask if he can cut a ten cavity for you. The tail mold he did for me I asked for and he was good about doing it and the cost was fair too. I make baits using just the tail mold. I'll shot a few molds full of chartreuse, then trim them back and shoot in a finish color. Darned small paddletail baits when fished on a 1/32 head cast on an 8 hook. Deadly on sunfish and crappies.

This bait is made using the Jacobs tail mold. Before the eye dip its dead on at 3/4".

This one chartreuse tail of course with a purple firecracker body. The red eyes set this little guy off in a big way.

Those lil fellers are bad a-- Tom they would be killer at times down here....I'll sure ask him i'm just lookin to cut down a step the whole pouring,trimming,re molding and shooting takes time i really aint got to give but am really wanting a paddle tail in my line up when and if the weather ever warms up.
Basstackle has the best paddle tail molds hands down. Their forte is swim baits! They have the thinnest tail that move at slower speeds than any other. Of course youll pay more for them. I have a 1.5" thats too small for what i do but i'll never get rid of that mold.
I have several basstackle molds and like everything about them....guess i missed the paddle tail molds i'll look again thanks for the heads up.
I tried to find a paddletail like the slider at Basstackle and found none. I found the shad bodies boot tail baits all over. There's maybe some confusion over what is referred to as a paddle tail.
I have one of Jacobs old 2" paddle tails where the bait is up side down...please help me understand why if I use a twin injector I wont get a true laminate? im trying to learn?Quote:

If the molds were cut so you can have a belly color and a back color from Rick they would be terrific I do have several of rich molds that I would truly love to have caught so you can shoot a belly color and back COLOR. maybe you can get Rick to cut a paddle tail for you so you can shoot twin injector properly so you will get a back and belly.Quote:
