Garmin echomap 93sv

Anyone have any feedback on this unit? I was thinking about getting an 899 bird and a minn kota I link but I really don't know how much I'll actually use the I link vs just the anchor feature so I'm thinking about just getting a terrova with ipilot instead. That lets me explore the Garmin units now. Any feedback on these echomap units? I can't find much on this particular unit. I like that it's si and di both on a single transducer for sure. Everything I read on the previous Garmin models is that they are extremely easy to use and have very very good side vu and down vu.

Wish I could help you Garmin hasen't released them yet I have one on order myself just waiting for it to show up then we will know more . I have no doubt they will be great unit's Garmin is going full speed ahead on Freshwater

Hmmm....no wonder I can't find any info! Didn't realize they weren't out yet

The maps are the same on all the new units unless you upgrade to the Lake VU Ultra . they are saying the 9th to 11th of march now for release was the 16th of feb

I just installed a 73sv on my tracker and messed with it last night while enjoying a few beers. First impression is that it's super simple to navigate from screen to screen. I noticed you can customize "home screen" to suit your needs. Not a ton of settings to mess with which I like. I was in the garage so no natural light but the screen is crisp and bright. I believe I'm gonna enjoy this sonar. I'm going from Lowrance elite 5 to this so it's a real treat.

I just got the 73DV and haven't installed it yet glad you like the 73SV from what I can tell so far its just as your saying nice screen and easy settings cant wait to get it on water .

I would look back at the Ipilot Link again. I mainly bass fish and use the features all of the time. In the spring when I troll for crappie I use follow the contour. I just pick which depth I want it to follow and kick back.

I will mention you have to have a Lakemaster HD map for this feature. If your lake isn't HD mapped you can record your own track and follow it. I can't imagine not fishing with the Ilink now that I own one.

The I link is only compatible to bird sonars though correct? I have never trolled for crappie in my life. Not saying I never will, just that it is not a common strategy for me.

That is correct, only with HB.....

I only troll when the wife says she wants crappie to eat :)

I have used Ipilot for years and grabbed the Link when it first came out. After a month or so with it I was wondering why I had wasted my money. Once I stopped fishing and started learning what it could do for me I started using it every time out.

I also am waiting for the Echomap 93sv to be released. I have Ipilot not I-Link. I am running HB right now and will be replacing the TM HB electronics with the Garmin. I do not want to turn this into a Ipilot thing but there are features that are very handy but also annoying things like having to mess with the remote all the time....takes your hand off the rods and such to do it....a lot. The anchor lock does not like hold you on a pin point spot, it holds you in a small area.....back and forth, back and forth. I fish a windy lake so.....

I am getting the Garmin and not being able to add I-Link to is not even on the radar as a factor for me. To be honest frequently I miss a cable steer TM

I just realized this uses a huge transducer much like the big lowrance transducer. I was told by someone that since I have an aluminum v bottom boat with no jack plate for my outboard, I could get some interference with my outboard. What do you think??

This is the one it says it will useAttachment 192096

Ducer is smaller than Lowrance

Running a large ducer off the back right side of my deep V metal Lund and only issue the the drag spray at speed and when slow scanning at times I have raise the motor slightly to get a better left SI scan image. HB 998 currently
