In my mind! Wish I could get out.
Saturday should be good I hope...I think I'll try bird
I'm thinking Okmulgee if I get my onions in
Yea your right nip and pappa I ordered some candy apple onions and been wondering when to plant them
Not.....Ranger
I bet Kaw will get slammed. Too many pics of massive amounts of fish being pulled from there! Lol
My backyard pond. Ledges 50 lb blue needs the exercise.
LOL
Above is about a 30 lb blue that we caught an hour ago on a crappie head. My "little crappie girl" lives next door to us so we waved her and her husband down as they were leaving for a valentine movie, thereby saving this post. My youngest son and Huddy Boy complete the picture. Ledge has seen this fish before, as it sat on his couch on the ark smoking a cigar. Little Blue still misses you TC.
Was the fish smoking a Cuban????
Nice C2!! Now go get some crappie!!
So you recognize this fish too GG?
LOL. no. sorry
C2, that's a really nice kitty. Would look even better as fillets in a large aluminum pan with a little butter and Old Bay Garlic and Herb seasoning in the smoker using apple wood (possibly even a couple of chunks of pecan wood too).
We came over to St. Louis to watch the grandson play basketball and do some fishing. Unfortunately, the ice is thick enough to take out the boat, but too thin to walk on and use an ice auger. The grandson led his team in scoring in the first game, and two more games are coming up. An ice storm is projected for the day we plan to :donoreturn.
Great idea Steve- next time I fire up the smoker I think I will throw out a catfish line and give that a try. Never found any meat that wasn't improved by smoking except some big shrimp that I over cooked and turned into shrimp paste. That was as bad as it sounds.
LOL, it sure does.
I would like to start hearing some reports from okmulgee lake. It's not that far away from me but I've only fished it a couple of times.
Well here is my report for okmulgee lake. 17 fish caught. 32 fow. 31-18 few deep. Drop to the bottom and slow reel up was only method they would bite. Black/chartreuse slab slayers w pink 1/8 oz head. Fishing breakline of main creek channel. Water temp was 42-45 degrees. Fish ranged from 6"-12". Strong hard bite. Air temp was 45 degrees with 10 mph NE wind. 8am-1pm
longan86-good report except for the air temp, but 45 and 10 mph north wind is not to bad. I could do that for a couple of hrs-maybe! lol
It wasn't too bad. Stayed out of it most of the day
My day was last Saturday afternoon. Snuck out for about 3 hours. Mostly scanned as I'd never fished the lake and really just wanted to spend some time on the locator. Found a wad of them suspended at 22-26 in 30 fow. Clear water and was using a 2.5 thunder Dan with a chart glow tail. All they would do was bite the tail off. There's not a lot of structure in the lake that I could see. Every boat in the county was in the water. Mike Taylor (bass fisherman) was there crappie fishing and he had only caught a couple. I'll be out there some more but the waters gunna have to come up first. Almost can't launch.
Odie will be out looking for shad balls.
