Ok about how deep of water? They doing better on minnows or jigs?
mostly 10 feet deep in 20ft, or more of water. caught a few in 13, 14 feet. longlined jigs two days. didn't use minnows. talked to severals guys sitting fishing minnows who said it was slow. saw a bunch of boats fishing minnows out from the mouth of harvey mill creek in the channel.
THAT IS WHAT THEY WERE DOING TWO WEEKS AGO SO THE COOL NIGHTS HAVE KEPT THEM ABOUT THE SAME.
Ok thanks for the info
almost none. they were there earlier in the year, but i believe that big 9-10 rain we had back, in what december, and then another 3 inch rain changed things.
and, the cool weather and muddy water has slowed things down. water is still only 51-52 degrees. pattern definitely different than last year, so far.
sorry, my un-muddy the lake water button is broken. i'll turn up the heat in the house, maybe that will raise the water temp. some. truth is nightime temps. forecast to stay low through this saturday. look for me, i'll be in a red boat with black merc motor probably around william's landing or harvey mill. jim
I was thinking about going this weekend, but I think the wind is gonna keep me at home. I may try to make a day trip on Monday.
Too Cold for me......I'm a whimp
27 Thursday night and Sunday in twenties again. Rainy Tuesday with lows in 30s through next week. I'm glad I got training next week. I will wait till it settles down. By the way there was only one boat south of Freeman from 10am til lunch and I heard they filled a 48 quart ice chest fishing near bottom.:biggrin
Any changes over the week. I couldn't make it last weekend but headed over in the morning.
Water flows north to south except for St. John's. South is from Freeman to dam. Southwest to be a little closer.
I heard some really big ones have been caught.
Decent fish. I have seen very few over 1.5. Nothing to brag about. The businesses would like people to believe they have turned on but it's still hit or miss and slow. Still fishing very deep with #4 split and #2 gold hook tipped with large minnow in channel. Really doesn't matter what end of the lake either.
I heard a couple over 2.5lbs in size have been brought in.
If its a lie I am only repeating it.:biggrin
Jack and I will be there with crappie.com cake.Don't need shrt they are piling up. lol
Should be some that size out there now but they are not jumping in the boat. Culling through a lot of fish to get a 12 inch limit. I personally haven't caught a true 2.5 since March or April of last year on Talquin. I just saying don't expect to 7 fish equal much over 12 pounds yet. Though, a couple decent days of weather and it will be on. I hate for some to shoot before the fish are really in the barrel. Or waste there only week of vacation too early.
Lol I was posting an answer to slabs question in who's coming to Griffin? Lol never know where I may pop up lol
Just got back yesterday from down there. Our group ended up with 210 fish total. We had alot of fish that were around the 1.75lb range and maybe 3 or 4 over the 2lb mark
