Its looks like a dandy Don.....should be nice and light and easy to pull.
Need to figure out how to hook the boat up to. Be nice to make one trip to Grenada or the coast to camp n take the boat to
Sweet deal!
YankeeDoodler can tell ya
Dont let the DOT boys see ya pulling it piggy back, not legal unless you are using a fifth wheel hitch at the truck!!! Cool camper man, should have fun in that little dude!!
really nice congrats DD and Nessa!!!
Just talked to Brm n he does it all the time. Recon it is legal. Know torch does it to
I looked up some rules for towing triple. Some states don't allow it at all. Of the states that do there are several length limits, most either 65',70' or75' total. And as John said a few have a rule about only pulling behind a 5th wheel. Although most that allow triple towing allow it with bumper pull trailers connected to the tow vehicle. Might look at what ever state you are pulling through. I can pull through La.,Ms., on the way to Fl. But my rig would be to long for Al.
Congrats on the new trailer Don. Know you guys are going to enjoy. Afraid you ain't going to be able to pull your boat behind that trailer. Trailer and frame is going to be to light. Going to be a swaying nightmare with lighter trailer in the middle. Need to talk to Creekslick about pulling a heavy boat behind a light trailer.
Nice, congrats
Ummm I'm in Mississippi
Yes you are, done been down this road myself, not a problem to you run across the wrong DOT man, which with my luck it would be about 2 miles out of town!!!!!
check it out first cheeper that way
that's a nice camper for sure !!!! congrats on getting it !!! I don't think you could get a good enough hitch on the back of that trailer to pull a boat that had any size to it , its like what cray was saying trailer and frame too light and it would be the weakest link in the chain , and if the DOT man in Mississippi is like they are here in South Carolina they will bust a good one on you for sure !!!!
Camper will be behind the boat
So you gonna hook it to the skeg??????????
BRM said hi cZn bolt on s hitch to the frame of the boat trailer to haul it. Get to the like, unhook the camper and unbolt the extra hitch. Sounds simple the
Where is your outboard motor going to be ?
that's a good question , but lets say a hitch is added he is still in the same shape frame is going to be too light and the axle is not going to be able to hold the additional weight !!! if I not mistaking I thought a boat trailer axle is design for a specific weight ????
And I thank you so much my friend.
Translation,
I said he can bolt a piggy back to his boat trailer and he could pull the camper behind his boat. All he has to do is unhook the camper, move the boat, re hook the camper and pull it in the camping spot. Go get the boat and fish. Just take the piggy back off the boat trailer BEFORE launching. Re hook everything back together when ready to go home. [emoji4]
Trimmed up above the piggy back. I pull two 24'ers some times like this. Usually two 20's. When pulling two boats, you have to move the front boat forward on the trailer because of the winch stand on the back trailer. With the small camper, he can have the arms of the piggy back extended a bit farther back and just trim the engine over it.
Hold my beer and watch this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:Rofl
I am telling you DD, ITS ILLEGAL!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE ******* MONEY AWAY PURSUING THIS!!!!!!
Gonna be more than duck tape is gonna fix too!!!!!
I'm taking an extra 18' boat trailer to Deltadawg9 in Greenville next week behind my boat.
I say do it and take pics DD
Boat trailer dealers pull 2 stacks of trailers piggy backed in Sippi all the time. Never been stopped.
The tongue weight will be from the camper to the piggy back. With that small camper, I doubt it's more than 2-300 lbs at most. The piggy back can handle 5k with two U-bolts, and 3500 with one. Like I said, I pull two 20-24'ers like this every time I go pick up boats. I hardly ever just go and pull back a single boat. Makes the shipping charges double on a single haul.
I think I would lean more towards letting Nessa pull the camper behind her car while you pull the boat.
