What is best socks or chains.
You need both. Socks don't hold up very well in stumps and trees. Chains don't do well on hard smooth bottoms and deep water.

Chains imo . Socks are good to chains are easily accessible though.

Chains....and whips if your talkiin bout Ginger and/or Mary Ann. lol Personally for me....Mrs. Howell. When she kicks off I could have all the Gingers and Mary Ann's I wanted. Jus sayin....But, for a 'short boat ride', either of the two would be just fine.
