The holes look to be machine bored from the spacing and straightness. It is an awesome sight. No ice down here in Alabama. So us Southerners don't know much about ice fishing.

Gotta be the biggest event on ice I've ever seen. I bet it was social like a dove shoot. Good drone video.

That tournament is awesome. Really has nothing to do with the biggest fish. When someone catches a fish, they run to the event tent. Prizes are based on what fish are brought in at what number. The party on the ice is way bigger than the fishing. I've always wanted to go just to say I went

All drilled with gas augers the day prior to the tourney!

It looks like a party but I would be worried about all the fish being caught with the number of people fishing. Could result in thousands of fish being taken from the lake. :bash:yikes

Actually, I don't think they catch that many. Plus, the time frame is a very short window. When people catch a fish (could be a 3 inch perch) they go running for the entry tent! Fish under the ice tend to not like a ton of noise above the ice! And that would constitute "a ton of noise".

The year I went I think there were only like 170 fish weighed in by the 15,000 participants in the 3 hours it took place. Plus all fish are to be weighed in live or they dont count and they are all released.
