I'm over employed or I'd bring breakfast!
I wish I could, I'm just too far away
Work is always getting in the way.
Today I will be employing the Search and Seizure method. I'll be going into a new to me area of Oologah Lake. Search out new structure and seize the fish. If anyone has the day off and is fairly close, speak now.
good luck!
since it's after 8, I guess I'm out for today! But def want to get go on a search and seize mission sometime.
Please don't threaten me with that this weekend, i'll most likely take you up on it.:biggrin
So how did you do?
Don't know why you guys worked. Everyone and their dog took off today and had a boat in Talala Creek. I located two new spots that NOBODY fishes. I caught a bunch of small fish along with a few over 10". Then I went out into the middle of the lake. Found a lot of timber but no fish. Fish have been from 12' - 20'. Did a lot of trolling speed graph reading today. Finished out the day with only 16 fish over 10" without fishing any regular spots. Gave my fish to a new friend that's recently moved to the Talala Creek area.
All in all not bad. Learned more areas and caught some fish.
Everyone was catching fish. Pretty sure I would have had an early limit had I fish regular spots. I have too much fish as it is and it's almost as fun to find new places as it is to catch.

First pic is one I caught fish off of. Can you see them?
Second and third are the same pile, but no fish. None the less I still have it marked.
The last one was over 75' in length.
I can't see anything BUT fish in that first shot!
Depth Charge time! LOL
Nice! So jealous of you guys with these badarse finders!!!
What type of boat is the USS-POS??? I was thinking you had a jon but I might be wrong.
I haven't fished Oolagah in a couple of years. My father-in-law passed away last August and that was the lake he camped at 2 months out of the year every year. He was sick and confined to the house a year before he passed. I remember him telling me stories every year of crappie he caught from there. I would like to stalk some of these crappies sometime soon that he told me about.
It's an '80 model Traveler Sea Nymph. I think it was one of the model vieing for the Bass Tracker bid when they were just getting started with the line of Trackers. I am only guessing when I say, I believe it's an Arkansas Traveler. 16'4" bow to transom, 48" wide floor, 72" wide top of 24" deep sidewalls, but here's the links to the rebuild project.

I will be starting another thread that will follow the restoration of the Ranger 393v. I stopped by this afternoon and the owners brother called the owner and said to hook it up and drag it home. He'll get with me this weekend. It will be a fun project. He'll get the first guided tour out of it as well.
Man that is a bang up job you did! I keep telling myself just to put a wooden floor in my tin and be done with it but to date I have no wood in it so I keep telling myself to spend more money just to make it all tin!!!! Ah the madness. Thanks for the links. I hadn't seen these.
You gots to go wif him Nip. You'll be wanting to "Touch" yerself afterwards.
I hope CrapA doesnt see that comment above!!! lol
EASY, EASY!!!! Chatt, I know how you feel about your 12 incher.
Reaper must have gotten lost on the lake, haven't heard a word from his since he left on his 'search and sieze' mission!!!
Word
Reaper, great screen shots! Did you notice all the shad in your shots? Do ya think maybe that's why the crappie was hangin round there? Regardless, great job!
I do the same thing when I can't entice them to bite. I just love bein out doors. And I try to always remember to kiss the first fish of the day and release him and thank God for giving
me the ability to enjoy what He has given me!
When the freezer is full, I tend to enjoy the hunt for new spots as much as catching them. I did that when prefishing for the Kaw tourney. Find a spot, mark it, catch a few, move on. When I get enough of these, anyone who goes out with me will eventually be put on active fish and then it's their turn to have fun.
My fun at that time will be watching their expressions.
Reaper look me up sometime, I am in Vinita and do not have anyone to go fishing with!
Tried the crappie bite today tough.i think them crappie are on strike for the duration.Tied new nursery jigs and no luck.i got a color they want tying me some saturday.
