Henderson This Weekend....

Sure wanna get back out there soon......fever starting to rise.....hand starting to twitch.... was hoping to see some exciting post from there this weekend, enough to jump start me......maybe nobody went.....maybe I should wait one more day.....what to do.....what to do.....I'll just re-think this over a bowl of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla......

Speaking of food.....recently coming back from fishing in Belle River, I stopped on Hwy 22 at a Chevron station truck stop next to I10....little hungry so I got 2 hot tamales all hot and wrapped up....ate them before I pulled back out on the road...turned out, they were the best I have ever eaten....found out they are made locally by "Ivy's" in St. Amant......can't wait to get some more....

And that fishing trip.....nothing worth writing back home about.....but I did get 4 in the boat....

PS, haven't heard a whole lot about activity in Henderson. Was supposed to go out last weekend and this weekend but a family illness kept me from the water. I have been hearing it wouldn't be worth getting out there for another couple of weeks but with baseball season about to start up I just wanted to get out on the water for a while. Water is still really cloudy.

Thanks coach....hope the family gets well soon.....I am going to hold off till Tuesday......going to be less wind then....

Sounds good, please keep me posted on how it goes and when it starts picking up. I will be limited on when I can go out because of the season so anything you can offer would be appreciated.

Perfect Shinners. I haven't been. But have a friends that's been going after his hunting trips in the am and he has been catching good he only uses Shinners. Been averaging 15-20 every trip. I am stuck in lake Charles till Wensday night. But will be bass fishing Thursday. We have a tournament sat on henderson. Might go friday and get on some Sacalait. They water is on a fall and fish should start moving up very soon

i would sure like to meet up with him Derek!!! we havent missed a weekend and we have not been doing much of nothing!! we use only jigs byt i do know alot of people who have been going alot with the same results as me!! maybe he is the only one catching!!!!!!!!:Rofl

I sends me pic of his catch every time he is out there. It might just be that one spot that they in. Cause he sees no other boats out there where he is. And he had a good teacher also

Derek.....went today.....bummer.....caught one gar in south Pelba(10 ft deep) and one catfish at the RR piling (14 ft deep).....talked to a lot of folks and almost all of them did not even get a bite....tried shallow, deep & in between....twice in north & south Pelba, twice at the RR piling, I10 piling & west to the pits (north one)....water temp was from 49.9 to 54...ran across a CDC "lurker" fishing with another guy....said he would join soon as he got a boat.....they were picking up and going to Lake Martin....couple of nice guys....

you gave enough hints that someone should recognize where your friend is catching.....(no boats around.....had a good teacher)....

My next trip will be to Stephensville.....

His grandpa was a crawfisherman and fished for a living. I fished with him when he was alive. One of the best I knew. Taught me a few things and showed me things I never know that was in Henderson

Hey Bruce. Gail and I saw your truck at the landing yesterday. We didn't get there till noon. Didn't see you in the water though. We stayed mostly in North Pelba. Had a few bites but didn't land anything. Was nice just to get out and run the boat. Haven't done that much at all this winter. Waiting for the weather to warm up. Was a beautiful day and the winds were calm.
