Baitcasters for me.
Following this
I like bait casters.
Okuma line counter bait casters Northwoods outlet $32 ea
Cheap $6.00 spinning reels.
Baitcaster with thumb bar.
Yep, low profile baitcasters if you can find them. Use spinning reals longlining and pulling cranks and the rod storage is way more of a pain with the spinning reels. Fishing shallow water is WAY more easier with a baitcaster when spider rigging, longer the pole the more you see the difference.
All I do is troll. $15.00 spinning reels for me. I keep spares and if one malfunctions and is not a simple fix I throw it away.
Thanks for the replies, don't guess anyone uses the Solo's. I have a couple and thought about trying them
Small bait casters, I buy them on e bay for $8-15. I have used solo reels my two pole rods, I didn't care for them. It would take some time to get six or eight rods out with them because you have to strip line off, no free spool, with the bait casters I just push the button.
Monks Crappie. Reels
Lots of options, but if fish are biting 3-4 feet deep on the 14 foot poles, that thumb bar sure is nice to let line out quickly with one hand. If fishing alone trying to run a net, strip line off the spinning reel, and control a fish, it gets kinda hectic
