Thinking bout starting a log book/ journal/ whatever you call it...
Who else keeps a fishing log and do you actually use it??
Thinking on starting a log book to keep up with my catch and conditions. May try to record the whether conditions every day to keep up with whether we're on a warming spell or post front conditions etc....
I know it will take some discipline to keep it up but should be worth it in the end...

That's a good idea but I'm a little old fashioned in that I want it on paper. I'd like to be able to put my hands on it.... :)

But journal sounds like something my 8 yr old daughter does.....
I'm gonna call it a log, maybe even the "captains log" :) :) :)

I like the "captains log". That sounds real official.
Seriously it all gets back to what is important to you as an angler - what would help you to catch more fish consistently. I have a database of fishing trips dating back to the late 80's and in reviewing them over time it strikes me that the lake or river itself has changed. At the very least it provides a basis and a record of past success which can become a starting point for future success. So in the "captains log" record things that make sense to you. If weather, pre-front, post-front, water temp, clarity, level if the lake or river fluctuates, jig colors, depth they seem to be that day all can play a part in it. I tend to equate water temp with season and the depth they seem to be that day but that's just me rambling.
