Do It Essential mold

Here are a few baits I shot today using one of Do-It's new Essential molds.

I shot this mold right out of the box off the porch....air temp at the time was -7 degrees. And all of the tail cavities filled. Not bad. And the chubby gut on these twisters is not given to dimpling that I have found. I shot maybe twenty rounds thru the mold and got it hot and never saw an issue come up of any kind. Split color, tail colors, solids....they all came out clean and ready to sail. This mold is super simple to work with.

There had been some comments on the surface of the plastic maybe being dull, but the ones in this picture have only been trimmed from the sprue and as you can see there is plenty of shine to them. I think the comments came from seeing the baits indoors where natural light doesn't get a chance to play on the plastic. These shine just fine.

Walleyes, bass....these twisters will tackle both fish, perfect in size for either. Nice baits, nice mold....this new Essential line is going to open doors for a lot of people.

Those are 3" cray. This is just one of the 13 molds being offered in this series right now.

Baits look good. If you have that style from a cut mold, lay the baits side by side for a comparison. Highly doubt the fish would know the difference. I just like a slick shiny bait. Especially on ones i spend a lot of time on!

I don't spend a lot of time on making the plastics. Shoot and scoot. Yep, there's a difference betwixt the two but not enough to lose sleep over. And besides, we see things in the air, fish see them in the water and when both are wet, they look, well....wet. Its funny how fish don't seem to give a rip about what we see. lol

Yeah i have no doubt that a bait from a cast mold would catch just as good. When they release a 2" grub ill probably get some. If i was selling baits, i would choose machined molds every time.

Id love that mold downsized to 2.25". Like that big tail for longlining.

Good looking baits = the bass and eyes will smack those!

Wow! Thanks for highlighting the new Do-It Essential Series. I've been watching from afar as they acquired Caney Creek Molds and made all of this possible. I think it's a marketing genius move for many reasons. It expands the once, perhaps, stale product line and opens avenues to new customers. Plus the name is golden - Essential Series to me means that while I've been sitting on the bench piddling with making my own molds, not understanding injection molding, etc. Do-it Molds creates a simple package where I, the inexperienced, can get into injection molding and have a fair chance at success. Kudos Do-it Molds

Fish....Every element in this Essential program from Do-It is geared for and aimed at the beginner. The Essential plastic is the most forgiving plastic I have ever used or seen for that matter and helps to eliminate some of the un-expected surprise even the better plastics can hand an inexperienced person. The Essential colorants are very high quality yet aren't possessing the packing issues that many colorants can have. The essential program is a no-brainer and is one that opens so many doors to people who have been on the fence with plastic injection mostly due to cost. But the best part is that the system makes quality baits.
