Thinking about going to Truman in the morning, but I didn't know if any or all or none was frozen. Any update will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Went from Clinton to Warsaw today. Only ice is in the backs of the coves out of the wind. Pack some hand warmers and good luck.
No ice in the dam area. Fished yesterday. Water temp was 41.
Do we need to start a sticky with ice/ramp reports?
no ice on Stockton I hear, but don't know for sure,,,,
West side of 13 hwy bridges was ice covered except right around the trees yesterday. Creek also ice covered. Going to be a cold week which is not going to be good.
So thats how it plays out again!!! I finally get the busy season behind me, get the holidays done, get over the flu... and BANG... ICE OVERED LAKE!! Typical!!
Had to go pull seats from deer stands today so I thought it would be time to check some ramps, so here goes.
Sparrowfoot iced over. Looks like someone tried to launch and gave up.
The Osage mostly frozen at Osceola.
Sac river at 82 highway is frozen.
Fairfield is completely open. Missed turn to check Osage Bluff but would guess it to be open. Drake harbor iced over at Warsaw but the old city ramp is open.
The old channel is partially iced over and I would not want to try to launch there.
Shawnee Bend looked open from the dam.
I didn't check state park or Bucksaw but Longview was open.
Forgot Windsor Crossing is ice covered.
Went back today. The only open water is from Shawnee Bend back toward KK island. Sterrett Creek is iced in as is all of the Grand arm from pt 1 upstream. Pomme arm is iced over as well as everything below the dam.
Went back today and the ice has moved. The only open water is now in the area of the dam. The entire Grand and Tebo arms are ice covered from point 1 up stream. The Pomme arm is now frozen from Fairpoint upstream. Fairpoint ramp is now frozen. I did not check Osage bluff, but being located where it is I am sure it is iced in. The water was open back in the direction ok KK island, but there are rafts of ice in the middle that have broken free and are drifting. Yoe can go through them but not for long. Surface temp at the dam was 36.1. They did not run water below the dam so most of the river and all the dead water are ice covered until maybe Monday morning if the run any water. I would think the channel will open up if they run water, but it is a guess at this time. Watch the swpa.gov website foe scheduled power generation. if the run some water you should be able to launch at the old city ramp above the swinging bridge......I think.

Does anyone know if Bucksaw or Sparrowfoot is still ice covered?
Bucksaw and Sparrowfoot are locked up tight. Long Shola ramp is open but the docks are out of the water. Bucksaw still had some big rocks sitting on top of the ice that someone through out from the docks. I will see how far up the grand I can get tomorrow. Dam area was rough today with the strong west wind. But I am sure it helped open things up.
I was at bucksaw today and it was still ice covered at noon. Attachment 186777
As of sunday afternoon the water was liquid right above the dam as far as we could see. Probably 3 dozen rigs in parking lot taking advantage of it.
Any updates on Bucksaw or Windsor crossing?
Any ice reports on Truman?
Bucksaw ramp still froze. There is some open water in the channel in that area. So will not be long.
I am needing to test some issues on side imaging but I am sure ice will be a problem. Been running some water at Stockton and Truman. Any reports from the Sac or below Truman?
Not sure what all was open but Faulkenberry was in this morning getting minnows for a guide trip and they posted pics of fish on Facebook this afternoon.
Looks like we may be in for some more hard water.
Water at Bucksaw and up at Pretty Bob creek was froze hard. Windsor crossing was also froze in. The ramp at long shoal had open water in front of it but ice in both directions as of this morning.
What's the latest on ice at Truman? Looking to go Friday if any open water.
I went across the Tebo at Windsor Crossing yesterday and it was pretty much froze in there were open areas. The Grand at the 7 Highway bridge near Long Shoal all looked open as far as I could see. The Mile long bridge was open but when I crossed the bridge at Warsaw that was froze over looked thin?

Thanks for the update Richard.
Anyone know about bucksaw ramp? Wondering of the cove thawed enough to get out to the channel.
Bucksaw is open now. I took about 20 minutes and drive back and forth to push all the ice out to the main channel. Here is some before and after pics. Got back to the ramp around 5pm and 4-5 trucks in the parking lot had put in after me. Attachment 194008

How was the fishing? Im heading down in the morning.
Pretty nice boat to be clearing ice with.nonono
It was slow for us. But I seen a lot of fish caught in the other boat in the area. They were single poling pretty deep. We stayed with the rigging. Jigs was the best bite. Color did not make much difference. Will be out doing it again tomorrow.
Thanks for the report. Jigging 15
I am going to try to get down tomorrow.
All right Speck lets get rid of this dang ice report thread. Hopefully we are done with it for a long while.
