BPS microlite UL or L
Am thinking of a new 7' rod for casting jigs and currently looking at the Bass Pro Shops microlite. The UL seemed a little soft and was thinking about the L but wanted to see if anyone had a little insight into how they did on the water vs in a store.

I have a few Medium Lights and really like them for casting jigs.
-
UL is too flimsy for casting. I prefer L.
-
That's what I was kind of thinking. I may need to check out the ML now too.
-
I have a few 7 ft 6 inch light action, they a little light for slabs. I would try the medium light. Especially, if you try to swing fish without netting.
-
Also stick with the 7 foot or less models too.
-
I'll be honest, I like how the 7' Light action casts, but the sensitivity is horrible, IMO. You would be better off with a BnM Sams SS 7' or Gander Mountain Guide Series 7' light.

I have there 8 ft Crappie maxx and love it for jig fishing.
-
Have a couple 7 foot ML. Really like them for casting jigs.
-
7 foot Glomis light the best hands down. Pony up the money you will not regret it

I use 4'6" micro-lites for spider rigging, with a 1 oz. weight. Have seen a lot of 14 to 17" fish come over the side of the boat. Never had a problem. Fought a 30#+ flathead to the surface but had to cut the line because I didn't have away to get it in the boat.
-
I like ml for jigging. Nice to have a little more backbone when a bass decide to hit the jig.
-
Thanks for the suggestions.

I've used the ML and the L. Prefer ML for all around casting and dock shooting.

Went by Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shops today. GM had no L action guide series in stock only ML and UL which were too stiff or too light. While poking around BPS found a 7 ML of their crappie max pro series that felt pretty good and was more sensitive than the microlite.
