Lurecraft has their lil nasty jig hooks on sale at a good price if buying a thousand!!
Thanks for the info.
# 4 lil nasty red hook 33.00 per 1000 @ lurecraft,33.99 per 1000 at Captian Hooks. Reg bend on sale also.
I've went threw a few thousand of these already. I've noticed that the red hooks tend to chip off revealing the gold underneath. I have however dyed my own gold hooks using a quality alcohol ink. They have seemed to last and have multiple color ink available, including neon colors. The ink is pricey but so are colored hooks that chip off.
I got a 1000 #4's and 1000 #6's for Christmas in the black chrome. I'm getting away from the red hooks although I still have a bunch of painted ones.
Cannot hide money LOL!! wanted the gold hooks were out so got the red!!Which is a gold hook!! Like the black chrome but seem to be a little stiffer hook will not bend to get my jig back when hung on a limb!!:twocents But keep some on hand for the small mouth bass fishing friends!!
I bought a1000 black chrome and 1000 gold in #2 from Capnhooks for 29.00 a thousand.
Any one noticed the Lil Nasty seems a thicker gauge wire and the gap not as wide? Seems I don't get them stuck in my fingers as often as Sickles either when sorting thru. I do like the larger barb and longer point. Maybe just nothing.
The eagle claw lil nasty!! Bigger barb,Don't break on hook set with braid!!! and sharp!!! Built more like a circle hook!! all plus's !!!! and at a pretty good price!!!:twocents
Lurecraft has free shipping on their hooks!!!
I ordered 1000 size 4's the other day, gotta see what the buzz is all about, lol
I ordered 1000 #4 300 #6 200 1/0 200 2/0 so far happy with quality of the product
Poured about 500 #2 today. So far really impressed with quality. Found 1 bad hook in a 1000.
Thanks for the input Cray. Think I might have to try some of them.
my size 4's came today and I got to take a look at them. they are real sharp! and I would say they are comparable in sharpness to the matzuo sickles, the reason they don't stick your fingers as much as the matzuo hooks is because the hooks point is pointed more downward and therefore not as much exposed. I like to bend the point of a jighook upward enough to allow a better hookset, this hook really looks like it could use this little mod. the barbs don't really look any bigger to me, if they are it is very slight. the finish is great, the consistency from hook to hook is great, some have said that the steel is softer than it's competition and I would welcome that because I have several thousand matzuo hooks that I can't trust because some break too easily. I like them from first appearances.
