Hope I can explain it .you need bottom plate at lease 18 or more inches ,should be longer but that was all I had, 8 inches wide ,the bottom plate on TM needs to be at lease 2 1/2 inches high off of boat to clear when sliding TM back

More pic
Sorry, even I have a hard time with those pic,sun was wrong way, here,s transducer mounted ,no screws or holes in TM,yet it works good at coming up and going down,it do not turn when TM turns for my DI ,also spring loaded to lay back on top of TM when riding.
Wow! You've done a ton of good work there Gene. Any trouble bumping the xducer when you're in timber? Looks like both items are well thought out and functional. At first I was wondering why only one pin in the TM bracket, but I can see that there wouldn't be all that much side to side movement there....one is much simpler to use, too. Nice job on both mods.
And thanks for taking the time to post these pics!!! :HandsClapping
VIC THE DUCER IS SPRING LOADED AND I CAN ADJUST IT WHERE IT WILL BE HIGHER THAN TM WITHOUT IT PICKING UP TM BECAUSE IT IS IN FRONT OF IT
It looks like you used two pieces of 2" channel to bolt to the tm. Are they 1/8" thick? Also, is your bottom plate 1/2"? Just trying to figure out how you came up with the 2 1/2" rise that you talk about. Also, does just the one spring loaded bolt hold the motor securely? Nice set up...and thanks for posting this. It saves me a lot of figuring.
I really like that.thanks gene:o:o;);)
I WILL TRY TO GIVE U A FRONT AND BACK PIC THAT IS A LITTLE CLEAR,YES CHANELL IS 1/8 THICK BY 2 INCH HIGH BUT I HAVE THE PLATE SETTING ON 1/4 INCH BY 2 INCH WIDE FLAT METAL THAT SETS ON A 1/4 INCH RUBBER WHERE OLD HOLES WERE SO I WOULD NOT HAVE TO DRILL NEW HOLES IN BOAT.THE TM WILL NOT SLIDE BACK BUT TO THE BOTTOM PLATE ,THE CURVE AT THE END OF TM WILL NOT GO OVER PLATE ,IT COMES OFF ONLY BY PULLING IT AT THE FRONT, AS FOR LOCKING SPRING TO HOLD IT IN PLACE,I AM SURE I COULD PULL BOAT WITH IT
Here is a front and back pic, notice I raise bottom plate so I could use same holes
Ahhh Gene ...
I think you and I may have been identical twins in a previous life ...
Interesting mods ... I like 'em ...
Rickie
You are good at mods! I can get it done...eventually. I usually just modify my first version and "get by", but this inspires me. Now I can build it right the first time and tell everyone that it was all your idea.
I read somewhere-tinboats, maybe- that several had lost their tm's because of sliding brackets failing. Bet this one won't. 9 more working days and I'll have all the time I want for projects like this! I've already ripped off my old front deck and really wanted your info before I decided exactly how I was going to go back with that build. Thanks for sharing with all of us, Gene.
What is the purpose of the sliding bracket? Curious minds wanna know/
For me, anyway, my boat has a tendency to drop quickly when unloading if the ramp is a little steep. The Xi-5 sticks over the front quite a bit, and by sliding the tm back past the very front of the bow there is no chance for it to hit the front roller as the boat comes off the trailer. This bracket also lets you easily remove the tm to prevent theft or to make storage easier.

Nice job Kosmo!!
LOOKS GOOD KOMOS, AND BOAT TOO
KOMOS,I BEEN TINKERIN AGAIN. I TOOK MY EXTRA DUCER THAT I USE FOR TRUE DI AND TILTED IT WHERE IT WOULD SHOOT SIDEWAYS AT ABOUT 170 T0 175 DEGREES PARALELL SO I COULD SEE FARTHER UNDER DOCKS AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE MUCH BETTER THAN SI,COULD SEE FISH MUCH FARTHER AWAY.SHOULD HAVE TOOK PIC BUT DID NOT THINK ABOUT IT THEN
Great looking sliding bracket.
