Trimmed Midsouth STRIKES AGIAN!!!/Conway 12-10-14

What ever happened to the Good Ole day's when members posted a product, gave you a honest report and the body of water they were fishing.
These days it seems they are far and few between. Now day's seems like reports go something like this...Caught these on this...so go buy this and all your problems will be solved. An Ole Timer once told me If your a good fisherman your gonna get yours, no matter how much information you share.
If you are posting a product least give the customer a lake, depth, and tactic used. One of my biggest turn off's on here for me is someone trying to sell something with some pictures and a smile. It just don't work. Id much rather buy from a Pro staffer or company who gives me a little Info on how and where they used their product. Not saying give GPS Coordinates but for goodness sakes at least give a lake and tactic used and I promise you will sell allot more of your product.

Remember Guys we don't live for ever and yes you can take your knowledge to the grave...but in the end... ask yourself? What did you truly give to the sport... that our sons and daughters and their children may enjoy down the road. My guess is not much.

Lake Conway 12-10-14, the pool, Midsouth trimmed tube #802, 1/16oz head (See Pic) fishing 7-10 feet deep over brush. You really haft to pin point those brush piles with a bouy and hover over them. Fish are scattered 1-5 fish per pile...don't spend too much time on any one pile you need to fish as many piles as possible, as fish are not grouped up and to speed up a slow bite.

They want it dead still and slowly moved up and down through the brush limbs. Guys I cant tell you how important a bouy is right now in the pool I use one on every pile I fish to stay oriented to the brush and keep my jigs in productive water.

I have exactly nine feet of line hanging off the end of my 10 foot jig pole. Right at dark get on the banks and try dipping grass mats and docks with about two feet of line and be ready for an explosive thump. Water temp 47-49 degrees. Caught these in less than five hours. Tight Lines.

You're right Russ, a good fisherman will never run out of fish no matter how many people you help. And I get about as much satisfaction hearing back from others, that I helped, who caught fish and had a good day, as I do catching them myself. And most of my posts of successful days fishing I can attributed to guys like you who taught me how to fish, and recently a lot of my success is because of c.com. And for that I thank all who contributed to that end. Not too long ago I was putting my boat in at lake Erling, a lake I fish a lot, and a gentleman that I've "known of" who fishes that lake exclusively and is probably the resident expert, came up to me and asked me if I was going to be fishing "white perch lake" and I told him yes. Then he said, if you don't have any luck within 30 minutes then come back south and look for my boat, maybe I can help you out. Well I did just that, didn't have any luck, came back and found him. He gave me 2 or 3 tied jigs, my first to ever use, and of a particular color, orange, pink and green, and some instructions on where and how he was using them. I limited out that day because he helped me and I learned something new about crappie fishing. And I thought to myself "now that's the kind of fisherman I want to be, unselfish."

I have always tried to post a report with new stuff or techniques that have worked for me. I am great at making others mad when I do this but don't care lol. I don't have to get on here with every post and say what I pro staff for because in all honesty I use more than just there products. I don't know many folks who just use one companies stuff. There are multiple companies that sell great stuff and what can be found with one company may not be found with the others. Everyone knows the folks that try to promote there products all the time. It gets old for sure. I personally don't care what body of water ya fish as I can find and catch my own. I like to see depths and techniques as that is more useful info. I have no problem when someone says what they used to catch fish even if they are there sponsor. What also gets tiring is when ya know some folks don't fish or rarely fish sponsor of friends stuff and post like they use it all the time. It gets old when ya know people are being called and asked to post on products because they need to sell stuff. It gets old when ya hear the only reason I use this stuff is cause they gave me the stuff free!! If the products are good then all this behind the scene crap wouldn't be occurring.

These people I know and have fished with and listened to there stories about what I have said. It's just not in me to do that kinda thing.


If you have been around for any period of time it's not hard to figure out where the folks are fishing any ways lol. I have met and helped a lot of folks on and off the water. I just like to fish and enjoy the therapy of the great outdoors. Some folks may or may never learn that giving is better than receiving.

Post pix with or with out lakes like has been stated. I personally like to see everyone's success pix!!

These days u have alot of marketing involved in some reports cause thats what keeps the lights on..... :Rofl

I love marketing...Just trying to help Companies and Pro Staffers see the errors of their ways and sell more product. Who would you rather buy from? A seller who shows you a picture of a fish and a price, Or a seller who does his absolute best to show you how to catch a fish with a product?

Here is an example...Creekslick on here will sell you a product, stands by it, and will do his absolute best to make sure your happy...weather he is guiding or selling he will give you any information you request even on the waters he guides on. That to me is top notch and a man I will buy product from and recommend as a Guide. He is a great example for all other Business owners and guides to follow.

Yep creekslick is top notch. Bought my rod rack from him and he has stood behind em %100. With that said ya never seen him posting on his stuff. It will sell from word of mouth if the quality is good!!

I just think that if a company has faith in you enough to put you on their Pro Staff, it's your Obligation to help them promote their products. Jerry and I don't get a dime from Southern Pro or Tite Lok other than a few products to use, but their confidence In us deserves recognition From us. We are like most Pro Staffers here, we're NOT looking for a Free Ride!!!! We try hard to EARN our position with our sponsors.

Like Crappie Greg said, Everyone should use what they have the most confidence in. That's what we do.

The Best product out there is what the fish are biting That Day, or what product you use to help you catch them!!!!!

Jerry and I both use lots of product brands to catch fish, but we ALWAYS try our sponsors products First, and usually we don't have to change!!!!! We Will change if we have to tho.

With all respect bill there are a lot of pro staffers on the site that don't try promote products as much as a few folks do. There is a difference. Some pro staffers won't say they ever use anything else and that's a line of BS. It takes advantage of new folks on the site that don't know any better. when This person first joined the site this person fell for it lol.

You are correct that what is the best is what the fish want that day!!

This person knows you do fish a wide variety of lures, baits, plastics, etc.

If someone is getting offended then maybe they should stop and look to see why they are getting offended. Does the shoe fit ?

Not sure if this question was directed at me, but I don't get offended by anyone promoting their products, if I did, I would stop watching TV. I stated my position in my post above.

Its not only about the product but how and where it is used to be effictive at catching fish or Crappie!! Two fishermen in the same boat using the same product!! Fishing the same brush pile.The one in the back catching ten fish to your one!! The little tiny difference the fishermen in the back had made all the difference in catching and not catching!!! Man, the Ar. board has turned into one giant pizzing match. Cant say anything without offending somebody. Cant post reports without somebody wanting to ride along on your next trip, just so they can drain you of info, then talk about you to their next victim. What a joke.

All I see is two members stating their opinions...not a pizzing match. Bet they shake hands later. Sorry you feel this way but I will say is this: If you feel you can't say anything without offending somebody, try thinking about the words you use more closely. I am on Crappie.com to learn crappie Fishing!! Not knocking but on my home lake if you don't tye up to the tree and drop a minnow down you are not a true crappie fishermen!!!We have tried to show their is other ways to catch crappie!! Troll cranks,swim a grub,crappie tube,spinnerbait even catch them on a crappie alabama rig!! Greers Ferry lake is a huge impoundment(lake) more than one tree for a crappie to be hiding in!!! and Deep you cannot set out in Miller Bottoms in 40 ft of water and hold a 1/16 oz crappie jig still long enough to catch a crappie to much wind and the waves to high!! The open areas of the lake never get crappie fished!! Crappie out in the open deep water that never sees a jig or minnow!!Not the same as lake conway but bigger,deeper!! Thanks Crappie Pro read your post to learn!! I learn something about crappie fishing every post!! Instead of using 1/32,1/16 oz we have to go to heaver baits 3/16-1/4 oz will not fit in a 2 in crappie tube!!(am working on this) the only way right now is on the out side of the crappie tube!! But with the bigger tube 2 1/2 in should be possible!! Same with Nimrod he is teaching you and the same time telling about his trip on the water!! Thanks Again!!!

Jackie I love to add a #3 or #5 round water gremlin splitshot to a lighter head smaller 2" tube to get it down. The deeper and clearer the higher from the bait I place the splitshot. This is the best way I know to get a smaller offering down to deep fish quick in timber wanting a smaller offering. I am sure you have thought of this just food for thought.

Great post! Can' t get out right now due to work. The retail business is booming this time of year and the hours are brutal. I appreciate all of ya' ll and your tips and tactics for Conway and other lakes. Hopefully, I can put them to good use this spring and maybe I can give a little bit back also. See ya on the water.
