tied a few more stocking up on my favs.
Those hair jigs are very nice and very well tied. I really like the two grey/white minnow heads. They even smell fishy.
Very nice ties. Like the white with red thread as they are killers for us.
Good job, nice looking ties!
Nice set of jigs
Box of good looking jigs.
You really do nice work. The gray/white minnow heads are extra nice, but the whole bunch look real good.
Nice
thanks you all ,I tried new to me method on the grey and white ,palmered grey rabbit ,then tied white zonker just on the belly of the jig, pushing the grey to the sides
tip that works for me ,I started tying with 210 but tend to build up to much on hair jigs ,switched to 70 made big difference but kept breacking started using dubbing wax on bobbin where it holds the spool can stay tight enough to not free spool but with little pressure spools nice ,any one else do this?
I have trouble with breaking small thread as well, but I still use 210 a lot, but also have a good bit of 140 and find the Ultra Thread in 140 is pretty strong so I like it at least as well as Danville 140. Still most of what I tie with is Danville. As long as o have a collar with a small flair on the end like I want, it's good with any thread I want to use. I don't care for a thick collar or ones with a barb.
Do agree it is easy to build too much with 210, but I still like it so much. There is another way to help keep from breaking your smaller threads, but it takes a kind of costly bobbin. That would be a Rite Bobbin. They have a nice ceramic tube and tension comtrol so you can set it so it doesn't break when wrapping and keeps that constint tension for you. I have several of them o put mostly on 6/0 thread and some I have smaller. That helps me some with tying using the smaller threads.
Very nice work.
Good looking jigs! Bluebird head and a shiny material?????? What is that style chenille?
The grey/white looks like a killer in Ohio water.
