We got started at daylight under a bridge and they were on fire. We were in 16 ft of water fishing 4 ft deep with minnows. The key was getting the bait down thru the skipjacks to the crappie zone. We left at 10:15 with 59.

Yes we had good current most of the time.
Sounds like a good day.
I'm going there Monday . We're you spider rigging or single pole. Vertical?
The fishing has to be good because the pigskin will be slippery for the Tide. (: Although I am from Missouri I will be rooting for Alabama, to come in second that is!!!! LOL
It is hard to believe you got a good spot under a bridge getting on the water when you did. I had been catching a lot of fish lately in other places to keep from having to go at midnight to claim a spot. Sounds like you did real well. Did you try a jig at all?
I never saw another person all morning. We ran out of minnows and tried BG monkey Milk and never got a bite.
That's a dang good fishing trip. I may go tomorrow morning and fish off the rocks under a bridge close to home.
They must have all been under the bridge because a friend and I spent all day shooting docks and only scratched out 12. Last week when the weather was cold, I did the same thing and caught a limit. Seems like the warm cloudy weather hurts the dock fishing.
It's all about the current under the bridges IMO
Awesome Job!! Glad you found them under bridge there.
AMEN to that!
