I played with the stripe, got one crappie.
I'll be there tomorrow. I'll let you know how it went.
I may go tomorrow myself. If i do I probably won't get there until late morning. We shall see.
Started fishing around 10:00 am, caught 18 keepers and about the same number of short fish.
I caught 16 keepers. Started at 1100-1130.
Caught 32 today.
I went out today too. Fished from 2pm-5pm, 12 keepers and around 10 shorts. Better than I expected for three hours on the water in the afternoon.
where are you fishing, high or low? went yesterday, 10 keepers, in 8 hours?
We had 23 keepers in Flat Creek yesterday. About 6 ft. deep, in 16-28 ft.of water. Float & flies . Fish were really spread out . One here and one there .

What kind of flies do you guys use (Popeyes)? I don't like those small hooks. We pour and painted about 100 today and will tie them up later? What colors do you guys recommend?
I switched to plastics a few years ago and don't use many flies now. I pull them with boards and usually have a good mix of colors out to see what the crappie likes the best. Blue, white, chartreuse, orange and green were my go to colors when I used to use flies.Quote:

The bite was very light and not aggressive at all. I'm not surprised you missed some fish, I know I missed several myself. I had a few that would hit and then be gone by the time I could pick the rod up. I like a #4 sickle hook for most applications myself.
