I have a bunch of them... The bluegill love'm. I like tipping the rear trebble hook with a crappie nibble too.
I use them fishing farm ponds
I've got a couple. Just picked them up on an end of season sale.
I use them. Not my go-to, but I put one on when the fishing is slow. Seems like I'll always catch two or three good ones plus the occasional fun battle of the green carp on 2lb. mono. Also good for crappie when they are in shallows around stumps or suspended near the surface in open water.
I like to use these in the spring for gills/bass in my pond . THE solid white red ear is the only one I do well on . do you have luck on the others ?
I'm sure it's a good bait, but treble hooks and bream are not a good mix, IMO.
Besides, jigs and flies work so well, it's hard to justify using anything else.
I use the green with stripes and redish and catch bass, big bluegill to 1-1/2lbs and if you drag it fast for a few cranks to get it deep then slow steady retrieve crappie will eat it. I like the trebles cause it won't git swallowed by the gills if your going to release them. I carry a hemostat or small needle nose for removal

I have three - ea. one a different color. The one I've had the best luck with has an olive green back over a white belly. I need to seek out the white one you speak of. One of my all time favorite bream baits is the 1/32 oz white beetle with a red spot on it. Don't know what it is about the red spot, but it seems to be important.
The red spot makes the predators think that the baitfish (lure) is wounded

I got the white one this fall had a lot a good luck on it. The bluegills and crappie seemed to love it.
Ran into some white ones with red eyes at Walmart the other night. I'll be armed and dangerous now once April (seems so far away) rolls around.
I really like using these lures.I paddle troll them in my kayak for crappie and gills, often get bonus bass, and during one trip last year,I caught three nice cats on three cast using a green one.
I usually use Trout Magnets for 95 percent of my fishing. But this year I traded in a paddle kayak for a pedal drive....Native Slayer Propel 10. So after reading this post bought a dozen of these. Plan on trolling a little with them in some TWRA Lakes. I had read somewhere that the tuning on them was bad so I have already tested all 12 of them. Only 4 ran true out of the box but was able to adjust the rest. Looking forward to using them.

This has been my go-to bait for the local ponds and the Canoochee River. Very aggressive strikes on the river from bluegill and redbreast, a slower retrieve on the lakes has worked for everything except catfish, so far. I always have a few of these with me whether from shore or in the yak.
Great bait!
Great bait to try for something different. Caught a lot of brim and redbreast in Florida years past. Even had them out fish crickets.
I've caught a little bit of everything on those in ponds. I think the last one I bought may have been a "baby bass" color.
Tried the last year never caught a fish
Caught some big ones today in Bitsy Minnows and beetle spins.
Bitsy Minnow in chartreuse and black is my go to lure I love to fish them and usually outfish folks using live bait
We normally outfish live bait for crappies and sunnies with plastics, too. I am going to have to dig out what little plugs I have and see if they work for me, too.
Stores in my area don't carry the Bitsy Minnow. Best price I found on the net was 3.99 with free shipping on orders over 30.00. Don't want to break any rules so won't mention where but made sure I bought enough to get free shipping. Got 2 of the white with red dot. Will see how they work for me in my area. Pop
I bought two of them yesterday and am looking forward to trying them
I like them if and when I can convince myself to not tie on a roostertail. I also like the Rebel tiny Wee crankbait in crawdad. I also change the rear treble to a single hook and then bend the rear hook eye with my forceps so the now rear single hook rides upward. A Bluegill with all three trebles in its mouth just about sews its mouth shut, hard to get the hooks out sometimes. Kit
Just bought one of those Rebel crawdads today. Along with 3 more Bitsys and beetle spins.
Also bought some rooster tails, never used one before so I figured I'd try it.
I love them! Got one of every color they offer.
I am a fan of road runners too. They out fish my beetle spins, but are more $. And easy to lose in brush.
I just started using them, in the ponds here the Tennesee shad color works the best, I have the blue and chartreuse one and one ghost shad, the tennesee shad is a killer.
We call them the KILLER.
