How much is a pound of minnow s. In miss
$2.50-$1.50 per doz, depending on where you are. Not many bait shops sell by the pound.
12.50 a pound at Lakeway and Bs Grocery here at Grenada, 1.35 a dozen at Lakeway, not sure out at Bs.
Shouldn't matter. A pound is a pound regardless of the size.
It vary's, I've seen it anywhere from $12.50 per lb, at 'Nader to $23.00 lb at the Tenn-Tom one stop at Pickensville.
Just for comparison, in SC a 1/2 lb of tuffies (smallest size) is $12. That is about 14 dozen or more. The larger they are the more per pound. Not sure why because the bigger the minnow the less you get in a pound, but the next size up is $14.Lb.
Thanks guys. Friend of mine gonna set up a truck to sell from.
1000 #8 minnows (large) weighs 8 Lbs., 1000 #6 minnows (medium) weighs 6 Lbs. There are 125 minnows per Lb. of #8s. There are 166 minnows per Lb. of #6s. I agree that a pound is a pound but the smaller the minnow, the more it takes to make a pound. I sold minnows for several years. If I'm wrong, I just wasted those years.
Depends on how you bought em, if you bought em by the pound and priced per size then that's how you sell em. Its all relative to how the wholesaler is selling em at each shop. At Lakeway a pound is a pound, that's the way they buy them.
I think I understand. Regardless of size, the price is 12.50 per lb.. You just get more (numbers) if you buy a smaller size. (4s or 6s)
We are lucky enough to have a fish farm about 15 miles from us. A believe a pound of minnows cost $7.50
Thanks guys. Friend of mine gonna set up a truck to sell from.
