Doesn't on Ross Barnett. I've caught both in the same area at the same time. NICE striper
we got white bass and not so much from my experience
We've caught some pushing 12 pounds on Barnett. Some mighty fine eating if cleaned right
We through em on the shore, possums gotta Eat also . Bawhahaha
Let me ask you a querstion. Do you like redfish?
Yep.
Almost taste the same. Just have to leave a little meat on the skin when you filet them. All that red meat has to come off or it tastes like Dirt
Ill try one filleted then , we have been chunking them. Thnx for the heads up.
DD has been in the cup again Bama, they are nasty and Bigfeet hunters will eat anything!!!!!!! Its a waste of time and effort, specially ifn you can catch crappie to eat, heck I wouldn't even feed them things to the folks at the family fish fry!!!!!!!:puke
We catch em side by side with crappie here a lot of the time, Saturday was a prime example, caught 2 nice crappie and turned back on em and caught 2 big stripes, feeding on the same feed!!
I do them like fish and chips with a beer batter. Can't do that with Crappie, they fall apart. Try is once and let me know what ya think.
he ain't talking about white bass you gewber. That's a searun Striper in the picture
BTW, I like the white bass myself. Bet you if you put some white bass filets side by side on the plate that no one would say they were nasty. Try it and don;t tell no one you did it. They'll never know they were eating white bass
be youve never eaten a white bass either. Most folks go off what others have said and those folks never ate them either LOL
I have tried the white bass and that's what my statement above was based on, I try not to let em even come over the gunnels of my boat.
Just more for me then lol
are there any birds woking on Martin yet?
Stripped bass have a "blood line" similar to Amber Jack. Both are good if you cut it out and awful if you don't.
I hate a strong flavored fish but have eaten white bass, hybrids and stripers AFTER slicing out ALL the mud streak which is nasty. Not as sweet as crappie and lack the perfect flake texture of walleye (which is, of course the perfect fish) but still a really mild flavored- firmer textured delicious fillet. Which is why the possums love em so much.
It's all good. Bigfoots ain't bad either if you marinate them then soak them in a brine before a slow cold smoke how bout it Mr Goodtimes
that's what you do with white bass, soak em in a bucket with an oak board, take em out the next day cooking em on the board in the oven or the grill, remove the whites and eat the board, be the best whites you ever eat!!!!
Have to bacon wrap bigfeets. Dries out lol
Works good on that oak board too, kinda masks the fish taste!!!!:Rofl
I actually like white bass cut out the red meat soak in salt water yum ate a bunch of them
So do you hunt Yankee bigfeets?
No they hunt us Seen me one when I was 13-14 riding dirt bike on a old railroad track. Rails and timbers had been removed. Used to hang out deep in the woods in what I thought then was a old te-pee now I know it was a big foot structure. Tons of deer back there too Got treed by wild dogs same old timber
I was on the dirt bike lol I just read that not the Bigfoot Dudes can move
There you o DD, here is a old lead on feets. Go bob knows where he stays!!!
Whites aren't bad out of clear water lakes. Sea run Stripers or Rockfish are good if prepared like DD said.
If'n he wasn't in Illinois, I'd go check it out. GoBob, they'll get on all 4s and they can flat out move that way. Friend of mine saw a smaller on(bout 6 feet tall) on all 4s and said it was running like a rabbit. Pulling it's back feet up past it's front shoulder and pushing off. It was getting it
If ya like redfish, you'll like Stripers.
seagulls on schooling stripes yet?
That was 30 years ago , most of the woods got cleared out for subdivision . All pines and sand , sand doesn't give you good tracks . Had a junk yard down the road old guy use to tell me he had one using a car for shelter. Always thought he spent to much time with the bottle until I seen the one following us along the tracks. Have they got back to you on your show Don ?
not yet. We had some good numbers but having to be careful with the premise of the show, trying to kill one. The producers already talked to several backers for it
Tell us more about the Feets Gobob. Or the wild dogs. That's good stuff!
Wrap it in bacon, that'll make anything taste better.
