What is the best wax out there for waxing a fiberglass boat?
I use 303 Protectant, safe and effective for: vinyl, Plexiglas, carbon fiber, rubber, plastics and finished leather, used it since I bought my boat. It is a spray on, wipe off product, simple to use and works great.
I have a '93 Champion 191 SC Elite I bought in '93. It still looks great. It has NEVER been outside except when I was fishing and I keep a custom made cover on it. That is the biggest secret to keeping a boat in good condition.
Is it gel coat or paint, after that selecting a wax is easy. I really like the 3m Marine line of products
Gel coat
I also use 303 on my boat and RV. Easy on easy off, won't harm seals, decals or rubber. Buy it by the gallon.
That 303 Protectant sounds pretty good. Looks like I can use that on the seats also. Has any body used the Meguiars flagship marine wax?
You boys have too much time on your hands
:Rofl ILL ASK THE LITTLE WOMAN................. :scratchhead
I use the Lucas Oil Slick Mist after every use. It will keep it nice and shiny between winter time waxing.
Lucas slick mist is good, I use bass boat saver, wipe down after each time out. really helps protect finish
I see the BBC guys like the bass boat saver also. Kind of half and half split so both have to be pretty good. I like to hit it right after I take out of the water if possible "Non tournament days". It will shine it up and take the nasty Truman water line right off the white on my boat. I will give mine a good deep clean of the carpet and a coat of wax this winter when it gets to nasty out to fish. So I will be interested to see what everyone here uses since this is not something I have ever did on past boats
.
I use bass boat saver all the time & a good marine wax once a year in the winter..keeps it shinny all year..
The detail guy also a bass cat employee told me Ice. I love it, clear and easy!
Yeah, I seen the shine on Keefer boat at spring camp.
I use the Wally world sea-sense. It's worked for me. The 2007 boat still looks great and easy to clean between the early spring waxings. I wax one time per year.
I'm interested in the 303 if it's easier to apply and wipe off. The sease is labor intensive and I won't have my free labor for too many more years to help me.
