What fish do you most often catch besides crappie when crappie fishing? Thanks!
large mouth bass...........
Bluegill
bass,cats and gar.
Think that depends on the lake we are fishing and sometimes the time of year. Lot of catfish on water sheds, gar in oxbows and sometimes the white bass are a real pain in the rear!!!
Most time it's largemouths around here, but occasionally the gills
If I'm catchin yellow bass I know the crappie are there also ...
Rickie
Catfish and bream.
Yellow Bellies
In SC it is most likely the White Perch. They have crowded out the White Bass and DNR has declassified them as game fish in hopes of reducing their numbers. It is hard to fish with minnow in some of our lakes without catching a boat load of these things before a crappie can get to the bait.
Yellow bass. Can't stand em. Once they start biting, there's nothing to do but move to a different spot.
They're actually good eatin if the red layer of meat is removed while cleaning ...

Up here in the northeast, we catch: (in order of highest to lowest frequency)
Bluegills....yellow perch....white perch....lm bass....northern pike....bullhead.
So this yellow bass is like a white bass basically? I've never seen one in my parts or even heard of one. Interesting.....
Lake 1 = White Bass
Lake 2 = Stripers
Yellow Bass (Yellow Bellies) are lots smaller than White Bass.
Catfish & sometimes giants- caught a 30# flathead slow trolling on a 12' Wally Marshall- pulled the boat around for a while but put it in the boat-released after the pictures
Largemouth Bass
White Bass
Stripers
Gaspergoo
Catfish
Depends on when & where I'm fishing, but Bass, Catfish, Freshwater Drum, Bluegill & Warmouth, White Bass & Hybrid Striped Bass make up the majority of "other" species caught when Crappie fishing. And it doesn't seem to matter much whether I'm fishing a jig or a minnow, as to how often one of these "other" fish will be caught.
... cp :kewl
Depends on which pond I'm fishing - could be pumpkinseed, bass, bullhead, perch or trout and once a really big snapping turtle which was really fun.
Sunfish, Small Northern Pike
yeller bass n cats
Catfish and bass
Catfish and once in a while a Bass. But the funny thing is, when fishing for Walleye catch almost as many crappie as catfish.
Bass would be the #1 other fish when crappie fishing for me but white perch are a tight second.
1. Large mouth bass
2. Drum perch
3. Yellow bass
4. Channel catfish
5. Blue gills
6. Walleyes
O, I will have to drop all these down in order by 1 to get get to my new #1, sticks and stumps. I seem to catch them the most.
Large Mouth Bass or white perch
Yep, freshwater drum. Wanted to see if anyone knew them. Lake Somerville here in Texas has them in abundance.
bluegill.
Bass, catfish, white bass, bluegill, and skip Jack shad aka Tennessee Tarpon.
Spot bass and hybred bass
Yellow bass and drum. In the winter if I'm casting I almost always catch some big drum.
