Been down to Rend Lake twice this year and we used Andy's Crappie Company. Andy does a great job and he will defiantly put you on some fish. As far as a place to stay you have to stay at Lake Cove Resort in Whittington, IL. It is 5 minutes from the lake, there is a bait shop with cleaning station and gas station in the same parking lot and they have a fenced in area with electricity if you are taking a boat. Rooms at the resort are top notch and very reasonable. Good luck

Rendlakefishingguides.com - Nick is a great guide and a great guy!!! Same for Jason at boneyardfishing.com and he has a lodge close to the lake with reasonable rates. Both have been great guides for my husband and I and would highly recommend!
I have been out with Nick four times, and Kyle once. Both are very good at what they do. I'm sure there's other guides at Rend that do a good job also, my experience is just with those two though. They both have arrangements with local hotels, and can book a room for you for less money then you would pay on your own. Both Seasons, and Rend Lake Resort are nice. If you have any specific questions feel free to message me.

JayDeb I have been in North Dakota or I would have replied earlier. Like Scottie said most guides are good, some definitely better than others. Just pick one you think you would like give them a call and talk to them. You should be able to tell from there web site and talking to them if they are the on for you. Like others have said there are some decent guides on Rend. I have fished with 4 of the ones mentioned and some of them multiple times. If you want the Best guide then call Kyle Schoenherr. You will not be sorry! He is one of the Best in the country. No Doubt about that and he proves it year in and year out!Quote:
