Hope yall have a great day.
is that water front?
the cool weather should have those specs hungry
Go get em!!!! May be time for a vat for minners, you can go feshing whenever you get ready.
I'll second that. I'm all the time saving minnows from Sunday throught the week till the next weekend. Right now i'm using a 5 gal bucket with a bubble box on it and I change the water about every three days.
I'm on the hunt for an aquarium though. What's everyone else using to hold minnows?? Any secrets or tips?
I did notice last week that I had some about a week old and they were just wore out. They wouldn't live very long once on the hook. Didn't slay the fish either. May not be worth the effort.
Lawdy, we caught five fish.....Didn't even take a pic. Enjoyed meeting Bob, he's a good scout.
I don't keep minners or minnows in nothing but my regular minner bucket once the daytime temps start staying between 35 and 60 in the late fall and all of winter .I can keep as many as 3 or 4 doz up to 2 or 3 weeks in it or until hopefully I have to buy more. I keep them outside in the shade by the wall and if its going to get 28 or lower will set them inside the door for the night but back out in the morn to keep them from freezing up. Once the water gets below 60 they pretty much have such a slow metabolism that they don't need a bubbler at least for me they havent and I have been doing this for years. On the flip side of this if for some reason we hit a good warm spell and it goes up into the 70's I slide them in the fridge thru the day then back out in the evening HA .Not sure you married guys could get away with that !!!
To much trouble to keep up the minnows. Ill just buy em as I need em and use jigs when I can't get em.
Here is an old thread on using an old chest freezer as a minnow tank.......... I've also seen several video's on youtube

I use a 32 qt ice chest with an aquarium pump. Works great!
Had an awesome time on the water today with BAMA S!!! Thanks so much for the invite to come down and see your beautiful lake. Well that cold front last night did us in today. Those gold dots were on the screen but they had a case of lock jaw with the weather change. I caught my fish on a jig today and BAMA S used minnows as well as jigs to put a few in the boat. We used them as seed for his end of the lake and released them in his cove near his dock. I can see how you could load up on them there though, great body of water. Tee's Hideout is awesome!!!! He is one blessed man with the set up he has. I did learn a few things about reading the graph and the way he is set up, will use some of that on my rig in the near future! Just want to say thank you again BAMA S for a fun day out even if the fish were not cooperating today. Look forward to getting out again sometime.
He always catches buckets of fish, you sure he wasnt hiding them from you. lol
Ha Ha...... No buckets yesterday, we marked fish but as Mr Bob said. They had a special kinda lockjaw.
good info
I have two refrigerators I keep my minnows in one in their regular bucket, they will live a long time and remain active, just change the water once a week. My wife use to complain a little but she is use to it now
I use a 125 gal Stock water trough with a air pump & bilge pump for a circulator filled with rain water. Have had them grow to 8 inches! Got a screen on top to keep the varmints & leaves out. An ice chest works great with one of those 12 volt bubblers too. I think it helps to medicate the water & occasionally I feed them.
I go through a lot of minnows & have to drive a ways to get them.
