Nice mess of fish, I'll be there Dec. and Jan.
Looks just like dinner. Good job.
Come on down
I like the release part...anchor man can catch em in Dec...great catch!:biggrin
I like the release part also. Last year when we were there, all fish were released and we took ZERO fish home and we had 28 over 2 lbs and Quickhook had that many or more over 2 lbs that he also released. With a fishery like that, I'd like to see a 12 inch limit and 20 fish per day limit to see this lake producing QUALITY fish for years to come...Just my :twocents
Can't say enough about the 12" limit........it works!! Monroe had it in the late 90's and after a few years it produced plenty of 16" fish WELL over two pounds.....ask huntinslabs!! Also, I think you'll see bigger fish in Griffin this year because of the 10" limit last year.
Yep! Make thd entire St. Johns river system and all connecting bodies of water a 12" minimum. Why stop there? Make the entire state a 12" minimum. Then increase the non resident liscense fees to $300.00 with a stamp for Crappie, Stripers, Sunshines and Bass that are $5.00each for resident and $100.00each for non resident. Then make sure those funds are distributed to the fisheries they were purchased for so we can get more biologists to get a handle on things.
CdC member's are exempt.....:Rofl
Will be in the Crescent Lake area Jan.,Feb., & March. This year will be bringing my boat. Any help on how & were to find the crappie would be appreciated. In past have just fished from condo complex on St. Johns river at Welaka. Thanks
unable to tell weight of spec you have on scales..........

Was my fish that small or my camera too cheap:Rofl Mike was right 2lbs on the nose
You are ok, Mike is good helper, my Tri-focals couldn't pick it up for sure -
any 2 pounder is consider good fish ....
I have been lucky enough to get opportunity to fish Power Plant lagoon (4,000 acres)
Parrish Florida this comming saturday. This place has not been open to public since
911 - 2001.....United Way convinced Power Plant to have tournament on it - limited
to 50 boats. Fish for anything you want. Pot for Bass and one for Crappie.
Hefty entry fee going to United Way. But could be well worth it, wanted to get on it
for over 20 yrs..always off limits. Old stories about monster Crappie - Bass & Catfish in it.
Hoping for 3 pounder to put on wall next to a 2.5 & 2.8. Story and pictures will come
Sunday good or bad. (Cold front commin in - bummer)
