...Take one 4 day fishing trip
Where would you go? Who would you take? What would you fish for? Would you go more than one spot?
Simple.....
But fortunately for me, I get to do it every spring.
Walleye fishing the Detroit River. One of the top two walleye fisheries in the world (Maumee river is the other). I'd take anyone that wants to go (heck I go by myself alot). I fish the entire river (wherever the fish are at). Snow, rain, wind, sun.. doesn't matter
The question was open ended. It's your four days, you can do what you want. LOL.
Kind of a "Fishing Bucket List" type question. Anything goes.
Now that's a hard one, to may lakes on my list
good topic
Should i refraise the topic to:
FISHING BUCKET LIST, Top 5 fishing trips you dream of doing.
1) Musky, Lake St Clair

2) BIG Walleye, Detroit River/Lake Erie

3) I wanna catch a 3lb Crappie. A trip down south where the big dog Crappie live.
4) & 5) to be determined.
Never caught a Musky, looks like a good time
I would go back the Kaby Lodge on Kabinagami Lk. Drive to WaWa and get on a bush plane with pontoons. They fly you across the lake to the lodge and land. They taxi up to the end of the dock and take your gear to your cabin. Everything's furnished right down to the boat & motor
The Walleye's run kinda small 16-18" but there's lots of them. Great people & awesome food. Pike fishing is good too.
1. Back to Porta Rico for Tarpon
2. Wade at Petosky State Pk. for smallies
3. Whitehall, Mi. end of pier for jigging Largemouth
4. Hardy Pond for crappie
5. Where I am at right now
Catch a sturgeon from a kayak, i think it would be great fun to get towed by one of those magnificent fish. Or get myself a big ole' walleye.
Invitation is open to anyone. Like I said, I spend about 3 to 4 days per week on the river walleye fishing in the spring.
Just had my buddy pickup my private launch stickers this morning. They only sell 50 non resident passes. You have to get there early. They opened at 9am, buddy was there at 9:20 and we were numbers 9 and 10 with people behind them.
I'll let people know once the season gets closer.
turn the clock back 20 years and i would go to the grand river with my grandpa for cat fish ;)
